[Responses 6 to 10] DreemFleet Beechcraft Bonanza A36 by Grahame Myers on 3 Apr 2005
Avsim Reviewer Grahame Myers looks at a new release by DreamFleet/Flight 1, the Beechcraft Bonanza A36. Grahame reveals, "In 1968 Beechcraft re-named the Debonair to A36 Bonanza, which is in fact basically the same aircraft you can still order today, and indeed very similar to the real A36 simulated by Dreamfleet. Additionally, this simulated version of the aircraft is fitted with RXP's Garmin 430 GPS and wx500 weather radar, as well as Eaglesoft's Sandel 3308 EHSI." About the aircraft, Grahame notes, "Nice textures, very nice textures in fact, some of the best I've ever seen, with an amazing level of detail all over the place. Even the GPS antenna on the top of the fuselage has "Garmin" written on it." Grahame continues with, "The A36 has a nice solid feel when hand-flying, and is easy to trim out to fly hands-off." In conclusion Grahame writes, "I loved this one. It has raised the bar, and at the moment has set the standard by which other GA singles will be judged, until somebody raises the bar again." Nice article Grahame about an aircraft we both share a lot of excitement about. I have had difficulty wanting to fly anything else since getting it. The Debonair was the "33" model though and the "36" with its larger cabin was always refered to as a Bonanza, your source was probably in error on this point.

Thank you Graham for an extremely well written revue. As a beta tester for this aircraft I could tell that you put a great deal of flying and experimentation into it and it shows. [Respond to this Article] [Return to Articles List]

Nice looking plane and very descriptive artice. It is my understanding this will only run on Windows XP. Does anyone know why this restriction is in place? [Respond to this Article] [Return to Articles List]

Got it from Flight 1 based on the article. Excellent aircraft--much improved over the Dreamfleet 310. Those contemplating understand that Reality XP Garmin GPS requires you enter the waypoints manually for your flight plan just like in the real world. Do your flight plan in the MS Flight Planner then enter the waypoint from your printout. Remember when using GPS to change the CDI button to GPS and the HSI to GPS, then back to Nav and VOR for ILS or Localizer approaches by Controller. This will teach you how to really use that GPS.
