Flight 1 ATR 72-500
by Paul Middleton on 16 Jan 2005
Staff Reviewer Paul Middleton's latest review is of Flight 1's ATR 72-500. He writes "When I first began work on this review, I noted how ambitious Flight 1 had been in tackling this plane, and wondered how how successful they would be. Well, the answer is that they were totally successful. Not only have they achieved a 100% simulation of a very complex airplane, they have gone above and beyond, with some excellent and enjoyable "extras". High AVSIM ratings are, rightly, very difficult to achieve, and are only justified by outstanding innovation coupled with outstanding execution. Flight 1 has moved PC flight simulation forward in style and they are to be congratulated on their success."

Excellent review. I have been flying this plane for weeks and it is now my favorite plane to fly even above the PMDG 737.

Hi,

Owning the plane, I read your review and you are right, this is a great product.
I think thought there are two big things missing : custom waypoint in the FMC (which is far from 100% realistic I think) and the lack of kep mapping capability to use GoFlight components or other hardware.
Also, there are still a few bugs in the FMC that sometimes crashes (not often thoug!) and you cannot "re-use" a waypoint, for instance if you decide to go back to your destination.

This is not much, but this does not make it "perfect", one of the best though.

Have a nice day, and thanks for your work!!

Olivier
