PMDG Express Beech B1900C
by Bert Pieke on 22 Apr 2005
AVSIM Reviewer Bert Pieke takes a look at the B1900C, the second member of the PMDG Express family after the B1900D. "If you have not flown the B1900D, let me reiterate that the PMDG Express series is designed to a very high standard," says Bert, who reviewed this earlier PMDG release.

"I would not call the Beech B1900 a good-looking airplane. So how do the PMDG versions look? The PMDG B1900C looks amazingly realistic from any angle." regales Bert. The default package includes three “factory” PMDG models, the downloads section at the PMDG website shows a list of 14 available liveries that can be downloaded at no additional charge.

Bert explains, "It does not take long to get comfortable with the airplane; it responds well to control inputs and handles well in the air. As I spent more time with this airplane, I appreciated the overall package more and more." Bert sums up his review with "PMDG has found a new balance with their Express line, as the PMDG user forum at Avsim attests, most users are pleased with the B1900 series."

I own and really like the 1900D and I was glad to purchase the "C" model as well. This plane is a pleasure to fly. As much as I like the "D" version, the "C" is better in every way. PMDG definitley did a great job on this. I can't wait for their next Express offering.

I own both series of the PMDG implementation of this aircraft and generally agree with the reviewer.

The only short coming in PMDG's "Express" series airplanes is that there are few systems simulated other than the autopilot and navigation systems... very dumbed down in managing fuel, electrical, de-icing, etc.

As a home cockpit builder of the Beech King Air (the 1900's are really just King Air's on steroids), I would love to see someone take the 1900's a step further in systems modeling and integration - along the lines of 767PIC, where the switches and functions (ouside of FS defaults) can have assignable keystrokes.

The review is right on though as far as the fly-ability and fun of these products. They are a great value at $15!

Hi, Maybe this isn`t the place for me but I will say anyway. I purchased both the B1900C & B1900D. I downloaded them apparently okay. The program had a "Blue screen" icon, sort of thing I have seen on DOS downloads. When trying to install nothing happens screen goes black then back to the file icon. I am running XP Pro with the update 2.An AMD XP3200+ 2.19GHZ,512RAM. Now I am not the worlds finest brain being at 69 slower than I might be. I would be obliged if you could lead me by the nose
to some solution. I did e-mail support but to date nobody has replied.
I would be grateful for any help.
