Capt Delahunty,

I did consider the Ariane Studios B737-300, but because it was payware, it could only be considered in my first group of 13 picks. Being as my first group of picks are by aircraft category, the Ariane Studios B737-300 was classified into the "Small Jetliner" class and then it was pitted against the Dreamfleet 737, Paul Brand's Lufthansa 737, among several others! In the process of my evaluating aircraft, I had to start eliminating aircraft for various reasons and because the Ariane Studios B737 lacked a quality panel, it simply never made it past my initial cut!

I didn't mention this in my article, but in the process of my evaluations, I kind of made a mental note of two major points with each aircraft that I tested and that was to basically split my evalution into two scoring categories, 50% for the airfile and 50% for the panel. All else was looked at as a secondary item or plus (sounds or esthetic value). Ironically, I didn't get down to my testing of aircraft in the "Small Jetliner" category until just about a week or so ago, just about when the Dreamfleet 737 was released. On my initial list (written) of "Small Jetliner" aircraft for me to test, the number totaled 18 different aircraft of which 9 of them were Boeing 737s! Before I started anything, I first went down my list and scratched off any that did not include a panel as part of the download or purchase. That's not meant to be or should it be considered any kind of admonishment against Ariane Studios' B737, it's simply what I had to do to accomplish my goals of picking what I personally thought were "the best of the best" by category.

Hey Bear,

I like your choices and agree fully, but I believe you should have included the Dreamfleet/FSD 172 Skyhawk. One of the best I've seen!

Just my 2 cents worth...

Best regards,

Richard
