Do you have comments or suggestions about these mini-reviews?

Steve mentions the lack of static aircraft in a number of the scenery items reviewed.

From my own perpective I prefer a scenery package _not_ to have static aircraft included, they can be a nightmare to remove, or if you reduce scenery complexity to remove them you usually loose other details as well.

As someone who spends a lot of time flying on line static aircraft become a problem, far better to have them as a seperate package so you have the option to include them or not .

If I were reviewing scenery the lack of static aircraft would be a plus point, not a negative point as Steve seems to veiw it.

I disagree with the review of the MD-87 panel.I believe it was rushed out after a long delay so the author could go on with his work at Dream Fleet. While the panel has many features copied from the very fine DC-9 panel, the quality is not there. Missing is the push-back feature from the overhead. The HSI is terrible in appearance and in function. Perhaps the aircraft dynamics are poor, but the aircraft's ILS characteristics are sloppy. Sloppy characterizes the work here. Too bad. I took the panel and associated aircraft off and will continue to fly the DC-9.

I just wanted to know about the scenery in the screen shots for the North American F-86E Sabre ver. 1.00 by Hayden Scott-Williams. In particular, one of the shots shows an escarpment on the hillside that looks fantastic. Is this scenery available from the Avsim file library?

Thanks,

Scruff

In response to all of you I note the following:

Dave: As to the lack of static or dynamic scenery in any of the scenery uploads that I picked from the last couple of weeks, I was merely pointing that fact out, but also went on to mention that many would simply use FSTraffic to apply whatever static and dynamic aircraft they wished. To the majority of individuals, the lack of any static or dynamic scenery, is very much a negative, but I wasn't meaning to indicate my personal opinion one way or another here. Just simply pointing out to those reading my quicky review, that no one expect any if they should install any of those sceneries.

Dennis: As for the MD-87 panel from Paul Golding, I agree with some of your dislikes, but also disagree on others. Namely I found the ILS to work very well, though I have installed this panel into Esa's MD-90 and my flight testing was limited to that aircraft. In addition I also found that I much prefer the location of the HUD and some of Paul's graphics have been improved. Do I personally like this panel over his earlier work (?), maybe for some reasons, but generally I like them both.

Scruff: The scenery you see in the background of those F-86E screenshots is Hurricane Airport, Utah from Richard Goldstein and it's a payware scenery addon (the scenery package also includes the airport at Escalante, Utah).
