It sounds like Microsoft has heard the complaints from the users of FS and is attempting to be proactive in providing a version of FS that will blow our doors off. Considering that the product doesn't sell millions of copies like Microsoft Office, this is an amazing effort by the Microsoft folks. Excellent! It is really appreciated by us hardcore simmers.

Tom, thanks for the highly detailed reports. It gives us a great view of what to expect when FS2002 releases. Now if we can keep from going nuts waiting for this thing... ;-)

Sounds excellent, just what we want.
One thing though, have they sorted out the dreaded kernel32 and such errors that have plagued me and others in multiplayer sessions..

Hello, just trying to find out if Fs2002 will run w/o a hitch on Win\98 O/s? There didn't seem to be any mention of that.
Thank you

Tom,

Super job of reporting !

I will be most interested if this version of our beloved simualation will finally get the Flight Directors to work, as they should, where they make everyone a super pilot !

The AutoGen scenery function sounds and LOOKS fantastic from your screen shots.....and here is hoping that the Cape Canavaral/Cocoa Beach area will return to the accuracy that it had in FS98.

I am saving space on my hard drive for this one !

Regards,

Mel Ott

What a great product FS is. I have been flying same since the first version and am looking forward to flying with all the inhancements that will be in FS2002. Thanks for the very detailed insight into what's new.
Has there been any mention of upgrading the generation of Flight plans, or will it remain in the addon domain?
Thanks again for the info
D
