Bear,

I could not agree more, the Porter is far,far better than a Hell of a lot of commercial aircraft I have bought. It is superb. Long Live FDS.

BTW, it was a nice and accurate review.

I agree that this is a wonderful aircraft, but I must comment on the lack of documentation. I had no problem getting it up and running and figuring most of the stuff out, it's pretty basic in that form. But the black box at the bottom of the panel is confusing me. I'm assuming it's for the ACS-GPS which I don't currently have installed, I once got some error display to come up on it and that was it. Also seeing as how I and a lot of others probably know very little about this aircraft, a "flight manual" and history would have been nice. It seems as if a nice manual is included with the majority of the excellent (high profile) aircraft. I find having a manual in your lap to cross check V-speeds and the like, increases the realism more than anything else.

But yes, this is an excellent aircraft and I look forward to future aircraft of this caliber.

Josh,

I think you'll find that there is quite an informative document in the archive that spells out the performance, limitations, specifications, operational configuration and pilot techniques, history, current in-service applications, a first-person pilot account of it's amazing abilities, together with data about the required additional files including the 'black box' ACS_GPS etc ...

If you read these documents I think you will find that all the questions you need answered already have been anticipatred - and are provided ...

Pilatus have belatedly been kind enough to send me a copy of the actual Flight Manual (too late for the archive, unfortunately) but as soon as I scan the relevant portions and make the file size manageable I'll upload it to my own server as well as the Avsim Library.

Rgds,

Steve

I agree, the Porter is one of the best sim aircraft I have ever flown... immediately following installation I flew it for nearly 6 hours (till 630am) I thouroughly enjoy this plane and all the details that were considered in making it. You all did a great job, the best yet.. Waiting for the next great design.
Thanks
