The Simulation Resources Links Database

Simulation's Premier Resource!
Welcome to the AVSIM Simulation Resources Links Database - the largest resource for simulation related web sites on the net today! Here you can add your favorite simulation site or resource location for others to view. You can search on key words and list the most popular and frequently visited sites in our community. If you have a suggestion on how to improve the database or suggestions for new categories, please use the Contact Us link below. You must allow cookies in order to post references in the database! If you get the message "remote posting denied", then you need to allow cookies from www.avsim.com.

Please Note: Links to the Database are not automatically approved. If your link does not appear after an average of 24 hours, it is usually due to one or more of the following reasons:

  • Link placed in wrong category;
  • Spamming the database; that is, placing the same link in multiple categories;
  • Web site does not respond after a reasonable period;
  • A site entry that does NOT pertain to simulation or flight (i.e., drugs, porno, scams, etc.);
  • A site that in the opinion of AVSIM management should not be placed in our database for any reason.

Orbiter Space Simulator (http://www.orbitersim.com/)
ORBITER is a free flight simulator that goes beyond the confines of Earth's atmosphere. Launch the Space Shuttle from Kennedy Space Center to deploy a satellite, rendezvous with the International Space Station or take the futuristic Delta-glider for a tour through the solar system - the choice is yours.But make no mistake - ORBITER is not a space shooter. The emphasis is firmly on realism, and the learning curve can be steep. Be prepared to invest some time and effort to brush up on your orbital mechanics background. Good starting points are JPL's Basics of Space Flight, and R. Braeunig's Rocket & Space Technology.
