Welcome to the AVSIM Hosting Portal, the Hangar System. This is an opportunity for the flightsim community to find a home so that your various flightsim activities can be shared with other like-minded individuals under one friendly and spacious roof. Your point of contact for the Hangar system is Partners Manager Mike Putnam (mputnam@avsim.com).
What you get when you are hosted at AVSIM in the hangar system:
- 35 Megabytes of free storage space for your web pages and files*
- An easy-to-use administrative system to manage your site.
- Increased exposure to your site due to AVSIM's ever-increasing readership.
- (optional) an email account under the avsim domain. (yourname@avsim.com)
Requirements to be hosted by AVSIM via the hangar system are as follows:
- You must have an existing site of reasonable quality and value to the flightsim community. If you have a special exception, please indicate this in the Comments section in the form below.
- You must agree to and abide by all the tems of service provided herein.
- You must agree to an ad banner on
some
of your pages. This is a small and unobtrusive ad that helps to keep this hosting free. There are NOT any annoying popups.
Eligibility to be included as an avsim partner.
Some things that we have learned from experience that you need to consider before applying:
- Though we have allowed a few sites that are frame based to join to date, we are no longering approving sites that use frames. Why? Because in order to use frames, it requires an extradorinary amount of management on our part. We want this to be painless for you and us. After all, we are not full time web masters, and if your system uses frames, we'll spend a great deal of time working with you to keep your system running correctly. We would prefer not to have to do that. So, if you can live without frames, please continue.
- If you intend to have files on your site that are from other authors, not yourself, and those files can be found in the AVSIM Library, we will require that you link to those files on your pages rather than consuming extra disk space by duplicating the presence of the file. A link is simple... Just go to the library database, find the file, and then copy the shortcut to that file and add as a link on your page.
Please fill out the form below and you will be contacted by the Partners/Hangar Manager upon acceptance. AVSIM reserves the right to refuse any application. Please give us 2 to 4 days to process your application. We will try to get it done within 24 hours, but a safe bet is that we'll be back to you no later than 4 days after submission. Finally, please provide a phone number where you can usually be reached just in case we need to contact you about your site.
