| Santorini is the island that was formed by the ancient volcano which made the rest of the island sink into the sea. The cliffs on the west side overlooking the "Caldera" provide shocking elevated views to the inhabitants of the villages which have been built right on their edge. The airport resides on the Eastern side at the only area of the island which is has a somewhat flat terrain. |
