Version 4.8 Features
by George Dorkofikis (C) 1997-2003
Virtual Co-Pilot is intended to make your flights more
realistic by adding a complete airliner environment to FS2002.
Current version of Virtual Co-Pilot features:
- Complete set of sound files.
- Parking brakes to set confirmation.
- Cockpit Crew checklists compiled and recorded by actual airline crew
:
- Before startup checklist
- Before taxi checklist
- Before take-off checklist
- After take-off checklist
- Initial descent checklist
- Before Landing checklist
- After landing checklist
- Shutdown checklist
- Automatic playback or manual triggering of the checklists.
- Speed calls during take-off and landing rolls :
(80Kts,
90Kts, 100Kts, V1, Vr and V2) with user defined speeds
for V1, Vr and V2.
- Reverse thrust call on touchdown (Confirmation on
reverse engage not functioning due to FS2002 limitations).
- "Gear Up" call, confirmation when gear up is selected ("Positive rate, gear up..")
and "Gear, Up locked" when gear up and locked.
- Flap retraction and extension calls according to user
defined preset reference speeds, AND according to
aircraft type. Following aircraft types are
supported in this version:
B737 Default, B734 DreamFleet, B744 Default & PSS, B777 (Default),
B763 PIC Original & Posky Merge, A319/A320/A321 PSS, Dash 8-Q300 PSS.
More a/c may be added in future update(s). Since the
introduction of GMax designed a/c the flap positions differ for each a/c
even if they are the same model.
- Autopilot keyboard shortcut keys to change altitude
and heading holds. (May NOT properly with panels that have their own
autopilot like PIC, PSS Airbus, Dreamfleet 734).
Easy and speedy control over the
altitude and heading bugs, and also over the NAV1 OBS course when the autopilot is at NAV1 hold mode.
- Ability to engage the autopilot altitude and heading
hold with values you have preset on the ground prior to
take-off, just like in real life.
- Warnings for too slow or too fast approach.
- Fully functioning GPWS (within the limitations of Flight Simulator).
- Radio Altimeter calls at 2500ft, 1000ft, 500ft,
400ft, 300ft, 200ft, 100ft, 50ft, 40ft, 30ft, 20ft, 10ft and 5Ft AGL.
Altitude calls are not done for the sofisticated aircraft that have their
own GPWS like PIC763, DF734 etc.
- Minimums call at your defined decision height (50 -
500Ft).
- Windshear warning in case such situation occurs (May not function
properly due to lack of FS2002 APLC SDK).
- Aircraft configuration error warnings according to
aircraft type.
- Fuel low warning with user defined fuel low level
trigger.
- Automatically or manually operated seat belts and no-smoking
signs.
- Cabin Crew announcements (Optional).
- Cockpit to cabin crew calls.
- Go Around detection and appropriate calls.
- Fuel Dumping emulation.
- Single keystroke exchange of NAV1 & NAV2
frequencies. Very handy when overflying your waypoints.
Thank you for using Virtual Co-Pilot and for all your
valuable support.
