CRJ Kits
|
Special thanks to Craig Murray for the CRJ Flightdeck pic above CRJ Flightdeck Package Info The Bombardier CRJ is a Canadian built aircraft type that has received acceptance worldwide with numerous airlines. Typically this type serves in the "Regional" mode and is heavily utilized by airlines like Lufthansa, Lauda, Comair (Delta Connector) as well as Air Canada. From a kit standpoint it offers some real benefits such as smaller size, lowered cost and simple Glare/AP switches. The Yoke may pose a problem for some though commercial versions are available. Kevin Saker has detailed building your own Yoke at www.flightsim.com in the "How To" section. Worth a look. Mike Lehkamp has also managed to create a realistic looking yoke on his 767 Project. The CRJ is great for those not wanting to have several monitors. One single 17" monitor will easily cover the PFD/ND displays. A small 14 or 15" monitor can take care of one of the Center Displays. Over the last month we have taken great strides in getting the CRJ kit together. Thanks to my pilot friends JM & RL for the major boost they gave this project. Thanks to M Peterson for his input/documentation and to our prototypers Kye and Scott. Below you will see the parts and pieces that make up the bulk of the CRJ kit. We are really happy with the outcome on this project and look forward to seeing the first two come together. |

The CRJ Pedestal is a busy area with as many panels as the A320 if not more. In this package we include two FCUs as well. |

The overhead was the first part completed and looks great. We even include the "Drop Down" section seen in the real CRJ. |

Here is the Captains side of the main/glare package. Naturally the full panel is included in the kit but this gives you an idea on how things will look. The side panels are quite different than what we typically see in the Boeing and Airbus style flightdecks but should be no problem. We have information on the side areas as well as the pedestal CRJ below. |

Here is a quick top view of the side areas of the sim. Both sides are identical. The black rectangular section is actually a storage bin. We include two small panel parts shown as well. They are part of the Pedestal package (Audio and Engine). |

Here is the dimensional data for the pedestal:

| The pics above show the first CRJ kit production. These two are destined for Scott and Kye who will be building and triple checking all aspects of the new Kit type. We are confident that we have everything lined up but the guys will rough assemble and report back. Once we have that done we can fill the pending orders that we have. (Feeling like a real manufacturer here!) | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Above you can see the lettering samples for the first two kits going out to Scott and Kye. The CRJ panels require about 8 feet of lettering! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Above and below you can see several of the key parts for the Glare and Main areas. This shot does not capture the Grey color at all. Not sure why. (Look below for the actual laminate sample) | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

This pricing grid details the kit parts in sections allowing builders to purchase in steps. The vertical rows show the kit parts in sections. All the parts and pieces are available in groups or separately. The laminate parts can be very handy should you need to have lettering or "Film" type switches for the overhead or pedestal parts. We are using laminate all around to get a uniform finish. Wood only kits are possible with proper paint and thinking ahead on switching. This
