Am looking forward to the new G-Max version.

Lookin' good, guys! Loved the old version, so can't wait for this beauty...

Now I know why I can't find Jan Visser anywhere, LOL.

Saw your baby at Coventry Air Show last year. She was the star, for sure. Good luck with finalising a much-awaited aircraft for FS.

Groetjes, Michel

Born 30 09 1934 so a joint celebration.
My old firm were the first UK private company to use their own corporate airoplane which was a DH Dragon Rapide! I never knew it flew in the airace. I travelled in it many times until we 'upgraded to a DH Dove. I have a fine photo of the Rapide with the Directors and Compant pilot alongside.

Dear Johan, I really enjoyed reading your Fathers diary, an amazing piece of history. My direct interest in this air race is that Thomas Campbell Black was the Grandson of my Great Uncle Thomas McCullough 1846-1926, a pioneer of South Western Victoria, Australia. I have been researching our Irish/Australian family history and have set up a wed site at www.brumac.4t.com with a page for Tom Black detailing what I know. you and others may be interested in what I have put together.

At this time we're working on an update.
It will be a completely new Gmax flightmodel.
Screens will be available shortly.
Also the air file is being reworked.
Gear and flaps are working, some minor flight tuning
is still required.
Cockpit and gauges will get extended functionality.
Hold short, ready for take off soon!!

Ciao, Rob.

How can the FS2002 Uiver be updated sothat it will fly in FS2004.
I have experienced that if the FS2002 Uiver is loaded into FS2004 (FS9)the landinggear cannot be lowered and the engines shut down.
The engines can be started with Ctrl + E however this is sometimes difficult to achieve.
Should I wait until the Uiver package is updated for FS2004 and whwn may I then expect the updated package.
Regard,
Gerry

A really professional website. I hope you can make it to the end of the GAR.
Now that the time pressure is off I will see what I can do with the DH88. From what I have read it really was tricky to fly. Seeing out was also an optional extra they left off the spec!
You wouldn't happen to know anyone with a 1953 KLM timetable would you?

I have enjoyed flying your DC-2, it looks and flies very nicely. I am a livery painter, and have done liveries for your DC-2 (for my own use) but would like to upload them, and would like your permission to do so. The liveries I have done are Braniff, and Delta. Thank you Dale

My father, Roelof Jan Domenie, was one of the three passengers on the Uiver and a copy of his day by day notes are available at the Geonological Library in The Hague as part of "Domenie Family History)
Does any one know if children or grandchildren of the crew are alive and where they might be?

Great site. Was looking foor the route as i want to fly it with the Fokker FVIIa H-NACT, a plane rented in 1927 by a u.s. millionaire, Mr VanLear Black. He flew 1st criss-cross Europe and then decided to go to batavia. Sam goes fot the record x-mas flight in 1933 by the Fokker FXVIII Pelikaan, flown by captain Iwan Smirnoff. Both aircraft are downloadable in FS98 version at www.flightsim.com, in that section you can also find appropriate panels fot them. They also are FS98 but work fine in FS2000. Don't know about FS2002.

Your site is terrific Rob and it is great to see the old "2" in the Great Australian Air Race.
You may be interested in a couple of (poor quality) DC-2 shots taken in the graveyard at Essendon in 1949, a year before ANA broke them up.
Please drop me a line. Cheers, Ed Burke

Félicitations pour la qualité et
l'authenticité de votre travail.
Les appareils sont superbes et
fonctionnent parfaitement.
J'aimerais beaucoup trouver des
cartes de navigation plus
détaillées pour faire réellement
l'itinéraire sous flight simulator.

Encore bravo !

Hi, KLM started to fly to Batavia in 1924 in a Fokker F7, H-NACC, 'Pelikaan'.
In 1934 they flew the first time to Batavia in a DC2, the Uiver, in the London Melbourne race.
Regular flights started in 1935, june 12th, in the DC2 PH-AKK 'Koetilang'.
The planes in the Dutch Indies KNLIM started their registration with PK-...
More info on this will follow;-)

Cheers, Rob

Hi,

By coinsidence informed by my Flightsim friend. Eager to download the whole package and fly up and down. F.Y.I. to date I'm very busy flying around the world wiht the Douglas DC3 version R4D built by Roy Chaffin. I'm using a booklet "Reis om de wereld for FS 5.1" and together with FS2002/FSNavigator and EFIS 98 it is very interesting as well. This package is really an add on to my to dates interest. You may find our FS corners on "http://www.eurofox.tiscaliweb.nl/" section digital pilot. Will keep you posted about my experiences accordingly.

Hi,

I have one comment on the Amsterdam-Batavia flight.
You say it was flown by DC-2 aircraft, but I have a book about KLM operations in that time (actually 1939 and later) stating they flew DC-3's to Batavia. The name of the boock is 'Sluipvluchten naar Lissabon', by Ad van Ommen
And if I see this correctly, the registration numbers start with PJ-***
For the rest of it, this looks great.
Regards,
Tim
