Frequently Asked Questions

When flying in the European scenery area, how do I identify what country the airport is in?

gherring provided this PIREP - UA /OV micron.net/TM 23APR99 2327/RM:
I've already noticed all airport abbreviations in the same country almost always start with the same two letters. So I looked all over the position aircraft map and made the following table:

  • EB - Belguim
  • ED - Germany
  • EG - United Kingdom
  • EH - Holland
  • EI - Ireland
  • EK - Denmark
  • EL - Luxembourg
  • ET - Germany (guess there were too many for one code)
  • LA - Albania
  • LD - Bosnia
  • LE - Spain
  • LF - France
  • LI - Italy
  • LJ - Croatia
  • LO - Austria
  • LP - Portugal
  • LS - Switzerland
  • LY - Yugoslavia
