You can find all patches that have been released for Pro Pilot at "AVSIM On Line". The URL is: http://www.avsim.com . You can click the URL to go directly to the AVSIM site. Go to "AVSIM's FTP Site", then click on the directory named "patches" then click on the directory named "ProPilot."

Patches are listed below in reverse order of the way they were released, or the most recent first.

  1. File name pp12.exe. This file is dated May 21, 1998. This is the most recent patch released by Sierra. This is the final version of patch #2, and it is the most recent. It brings your Pro Pilot version up to 1.02.

  2. File name pp12RC.exe. This file is dated May 15, 1998. This is the first release of the final version of patch #2. It was discovered to have a problem with the brakes being too good, making the planes stop on a dime and causing many passenger and crew injuries. The patch listed above, in item # 1, was released within a few days to correct this and other problems.

  3. File name pp12beta.exe. This file is dated February 24, 1998. It was the beta release of patch # 2. Keep in kind that a beta release of a patch file is for testing purposes and may have undocumented problems that you will have to deal with.

  4. File name pppatch.exe. This file is dated January 8, 1998. This is the first patch released after the shipment of the initial version of Pro Pilot before Christmas in 1997. It upgraded the software to version 1.01

It is recommended that patches be loaded onto a clean install of Pro Pilot from your CD. Best results seem to be obtained by not loading a newer patch on top of an older one. Copy any text or readme files from the Pro Pilot folders to a safe folder. Uninstall Pro Pilot through the Windows 95 Control Panel. Make sure the Sierra folder is manually deleted after the uninstall if there are any remnants of it. Now reinstall Pro Pilot from your CD. Place the patch file in the Pro Pilot folder and run it through Start / Run or double click on it in Explorer. Print out and read the patchread.txt file.
