MAAM-SIM B-25J "Briefing Time" Update

*******************************************************************************************************

The B-25J Mitchell, "Briefing Time" simulation flew as a demo during this year's 12th Annual World War II Weekend Show at the Mid Atlantic Air Museum, Reading, PA.  The MAAM-SIM team, consisting of Bill Rambow, Jan Visser, and Fred Banting, now an official arm of the museum itself, will finish this project and hope to release the B-25 for FS2002 within the next several months.  The team, is also in the process of completely reprogramming its Gmax R4D (see Jan Visser's gorgeous screenshots here), so there is a lot of work to do yet.  So, if you did not make it to WW2WE, here are a few of the B-25 panels and views to whet your appetite:

PILOT'S PANEL

CO-PILOT'S IFR PANEL  (There are normal and enlarged "IFR" panels for both sides.)

FULL QUADRANT POP-UP AND STARTER/LIGHT PANEL POP-UP ACTIVATED (individually toggled)

WING FLAP/COWL FLAP/GEAR POP-UP, SPERRY PILOT POP-UP, AND RADIO STACK POP-UP ACTIVATED.

BOMBARDIER'S VIEW  (It's a blast to fly her from up here.  What a view!)

TOP TURRET GUNNER'S VIEW

LEFT WAIST GUNNER'S VIEW

There will be full virtual cockpit, encompassing not only the flight deck, but also the bombardier's, engineer/top turret gunner's, radio operator/waist gunner's, and tail-gunner's compartments.

The B-25 CD will include some very cool multi-media goodies, including instructional video by MAAM President Russ Strine.  By video, you can fly with us to the Andrews AFB Joint Services Open House, and buzz the restored Liberty Ship U.S.S. Brown in the Chesapeake Bay.  Then fly the top cover mission over the WW2WE Show "Liberation of Reading" military vehicle convoy from up front in the bombardier's compartment.  We'll have several genuine, vintage B-25 manuals and WW2 training film, as well.  There are even excerpts from "Briefing Time's" 459th Bombardment Squadron Book and other rare, historical documents.  All in all, the CD will be a must have for any Mitchell buff.  All proceeds of the R4D and B-25 CDs are donated to the Mid Atlantic Air Museum.

If you would like to support the non-profit Mid Atlantic Air Museum in its restoration projects, like the P-61 Black Widow Project, please drop by www.maam.org and order the R4D CD or just drop a few bucks in the donation box.  They are much needed and very much appreciated.
