The 2003 Simulation Conference and Exhibition promises to be the largest gathering of simulation and aviation enthusiasts ever! Following on the heels of the successful and popular Convention at Lake Tahoe in 2002, the 2003 event promises to be even better! Have you marked your calendar? If not, do so, as all of us at AVSIM look forward to meeting you at the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum in September of 2003!

The Venue: The Mid-Atlantic Air Museum, otherwise known as MAAM, is home to some of the most recognizable aircraft in flight simulation. Located at Carl Spatz field in Reading, Pennsylvania, MAAM owns the famous R4D immortalized by Bill Rambow and Jan Visser for MS' FS 2002. It is also the home of "Briefing Time", the B-25 that has recently been released by the MAAM Flight Simulation team. MAAM is a short distance from downtown Reading, and nearby hotels, including the 2003 Convention Hotel, the Inn at Reading. Conveniently located and within easy driving distance from New York City, Washington D.C., Philadelphia and other major east coast cities, Reading and MAAM provide the ideal venue for this year's exhibition and conference!

The Conference and Exhibition will run both days from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. All of the major participants in our hobby will have their booths interspersed with the MAAM aircraft in the museum's main hangar. You will be able to stroll around the historic aircraft on display while viewing the latest products and offerings in flight simulation. You will also be able to view the hundreds of excellently done aircraft models that populate the MAAM hangar.

Concurrently, a papers session will be held at an adjacent hangar. Following on the success of the papers session at Lake Tahoe at last year's conference, this year's paper session promises to be an ideal time to hear from the experts in our hobby, ask questions and learn techniques. If last year's sessions are any measure, this year's paper session will be an event worth attending just by itself!

On Friday night after an exciting day circulating among the historic aircraft at MAAM, you can join us at a cocktail and carvery gathering at The Inn at Reading. Starting at 7:00 p.m. at the Inn, you will join us for a drink and a choice of freshly carved Roast Beef, Turkey or Ham. The first drink is on us!

On Saturday night you can attend the AVSIM 2003 Awards Banquet at the Inn at Reading. Join us in a full sit-down dinner and enjoy the company of your fellow flight sim enthusiasts and listen to a pro! Captain Richard Walsh will be our Keynote Speaker for Saturday night, and you are not going to want to miss his talk. You will also be the first to see the premier awards session in our hobby recognize the important contributors to our hobby. You are not going to want to miss one of the most important events in our hobby - The AVSIM Awards!
