AVSIM Online is pleased to announce that in conjunction with United Airlines, the 2004 annual conference and exhibition will be held September 17th, 18th, and 19th in Denver, Colorado. The venue is the Denver DoubleTree Hotel and the United Airlines Training Center (located just across the street from the hotel). During this event, attendees will be able to fly in the United Airlines simulators which include the A320/A319, 747-400, 737-300, 777 and 757/767 full motion simulators. Concurrent exhibitions and paper sessions will be held at the hotel venue. As usual at the AVSIM Convention, a Friday night social will be held, with a dinner and awards banquet on Saturday night. At the banquet AVSIM will present its coveted BRAVO ZULU awards recognizing contributors to our hobby. During exhibition hours you will be able to see the latest offerings from dozens of software and hardware manufacturers that are involved in the flight simulation hobby.
This year's event promises to be the largest and most widely attended flight simulation happening in the U.S. and the largest AVSIM Conference ever! So don't delay, register today and join your fellow enthusiasts from around the world!

KEY NOTE SPEAKER
Captain Frank Santoni | The Key Note speaker at this year's award banquet at the 2004 Conference and Exhibition is Captain Frank Santoni. Boeing has provided us with the following: "Capt. Frank Santoni is chief test pilot for the 777 Program, a position he has held since 1996. He is responsible for engineering flight-test activities related to all Boeing 777 airplane models. Currently, Frank is finishing the remainder of the 777-300ER (extended range) flight-test program.Frank has been involved in the 777 Program since its inception. During the early design and test phase of the 777 development his assignments included: Chief Pilot during certification and testing of the 777-300, 777 GE engine program and lead pilot for the 777 around-the-world record flight. Frank joined the Boeing Flight Test organization in 1980 as a production pilot and has conducted Boeing and customer acceptance flights on all Boeing airplanes. In 1989, he was named Senior Engineering Test Pilot. Frank is rated to fly the A320, 727, 737, 747, 747-400, 757, 767, 777, T-33 and CE500 airplanes. Prior to joining Boeing, Frank was a U.S. Navy pilot. His experience includes flying attack A-4 and A-6 aircraft on the USS Kitty Hawk. Frank holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from University of Maryland, and a Master of Science degree in Aeronautical Systems from the University of West Florida. Frank is married with three children. His hobbies include: tennis, skiing, travel and gardening." Hotel Details: The Denver DoubleTree Hotel is located at 3203 Quebec Street and is approximately a 20 minute ride from Denver's International Airport. The hotel offers complimentary shuttle service from and to the airport. See their web site for more information! To reserve a room at the hotel and Conference venue, you can register through the DoubleTree Web Site or via phone to 1-303-321-3333. The AVSIM Convention rate for attendees is $79.00 USD (plus all applicable taxes). When registering online make sure that you put "avs" without the quotes into the Group/Convention code entry on the registration page! If you reserve rooms by phone, make sure you inform the operator that you are attending the AVSIM Conference and ask for the rate of $79.00. You may have to give them the code "AVS" as well.

Airlines: This year AVSIM is pleased to announce that United Airlines is the official air carrier for the AVSIM Convention and Exhibition. Attendees to the Convention and Exhibition who fly UAL round trip will get a special discount off of standard published fares for their travel to Denver, home of the UAL training center. Whether you fly from within the U.S. or from an international location, you can take advantage of this offer. In order to qualify for the special fare offer, you must call your local UAL booking center and give them the Meeting Tour Code of 511XB. You cannot book online! Travel must be on United, United Express, or Air Canada. In the U.S. call the Meeting Plus Reservation Center at 1-800-521-4041. If you live outside the U.S. and United flies in and out of your country, you can also qualify for a discount. Call the appropriate number for your country listed at the United WEB Site International listings page. Keep in mind that special restrictions do apply (ask the operator when you call).
Special Drawing for Sim Time: If you contribute $25.00 or more to the Richard Harvey Scholarship between now and August 1st, 2004, two contributors may share 1 full hour in a UAL simulator. For those that contribute $25.00 or more, we will have a special drawing on Friday night for two lucky contributors who will fly a UAL sim either on Saturday or Sunday of the conference and convention. The Friday Night Social! The Friday night social, which will be held on Friday, September 17th, starts at 6:00 P.M. and will go until 10:00 P.M. This is a great event that everyone enjoys. Meet your fellow attendees and exhibitors in a casual atmosphere. AVSIM buys you the first drink, and feeds you from a buffet, all the while in the presence of your fellow sim enthusiasts. A great event and one you won't want to miss. Numerous door prizes are given away, and everyone leaves having experienced a night of pure flight simulation fun!
The Saturday Night Awards Dinner! The Saturday night Awards Banquet is the flight simulation event of the year! The banquet starts at 6:00 p.m. (cocktail hour), dinner at 7:00, and the festivities wrap up at 11:00 p.m. The evening starts with a complimentary drink on AVSIM and continues with a full sit down dinner from an expansive buffet. At the right time, AVSIM staff will present the coveted Bravo Zulu awards, recognizing deserving contributors to our hobby during the preceding year. As on Friday night, numerous door prizes are given away during the course of the evening, and all are assured a great time! Come and join us in recognizing the best in our hobby and sharing a great meal with your fellow simulation enthusiasts from around the world!
The Saturday and Sunday Exhibition and Papers Sessions! Starting at 9:00 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday, the Flight Simulation Exhibition will roll on until 5:00 p.m. Exhibitors from around the world will show their products, let you test fly their latest creations, and give you the opportunity to ask those questions that have been building up all year long. At each of the AVSIM conventions, the numbers of exhibitors have grown consistently, and this year promises more of the same. Whether your interest is hardware, software, peripherals, planes, scenery, utilities, home cockpits, etc., you will find an exhibitor who specializes in your interest.
The Papers session runs concurrent with the exhibition and provides the community with ample time to listen to the experts in our hobby. Everything from plane creation, scenery tips and secrets, to hardware vendors give presentations and answer your questions. The papers sessions on both Saturday and Sunday are one of the most popular aspects of the Convention, and you are not going to want to miss any of the great presenters that will be in attendance.
