FS2000

We are very fortunate to have found a gentlemen in the flight sim community that has taken on the time consuming job of re-doing the Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport (KCVG) for Flight Simulator 2000. This airport is our home airport located just 10 miles from where we live. I contacted this gentlemen, Page Cline, after downloading and installing the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport he designed. This is truly a magnificent airport re-creation that he has done. I was so impressed, I wrote to Page and kindly asked him if he would be willing to re-do KCVG for us. Page replied immediately and advised he would be. I assisted him by taking many digital shots of the airport and its surroundings. We were also assisted by the kind offerings from Mikael Hirvonen. Mikael had redone the KCVG scenery for Flight Simulator 98. Mikael permitted Page access to the file structures and provided permission to alter any and all files for improvement purposes. I really want to thank Page very much for I understand how much time he is putting into this. To re-do these default airports that ship with Flight Simulator 2000 takes months in some cases.

Below I have posted 8 different shots taken from a variety of angles to give you an idea of just how awesome a job Page has done so far. Take particular attention to the windows. They are transparent just as if there were real glass in them. Truly spectacular. To date, this is an on-going project and Page has completed all ground lighting, the tower, and Concourse A, B & Comair's Concourse C. One other thing thats really neat about this scenery is that the airport ground textures change with the seasons.
Page, David and I cant thank you enough as you are making our virtual world much more realistic!
Thank you.

Note: If you are interested in downloading Page's recreation of the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, it is available at

This is looking out from Concourse B. You can see snow on the ground and a Delta 757 parked at the gate.

Another shot from within. Look at the detail Page as added here. The window frames and even the red colored carpet.

Looking from the outside in. Notice the transparency of the glass.

A higher and wider shot taking in some of the taxi way lighting.

Another shot from the distance. All taxi and runway markings are realistic and placed correctly.

Yet another shot.

A shot of downtown Covington, Kentucky just east of the airport.

Here is a airport overview shot. Page has done a great job. If only all the airports in FS2000 looked this good!

Looking north east as a Lear departs 18 R

Landing Runway 36 L

Landing during a storm Runway 27

Looking south east out over the DHL ramp

Looking out of the REAL tower north towards Concourse A

Same shot as left, but with Page's KCVG scenery
