Welcome to AVSIM's Scenery Resources System!
SCENERY RESOURCES MENU:
- The Scenery Textures Database
The textures database is a collection of reference material and images of all known textures in use throughout the scenery design world. This reference is intended to assist you in looking up and creating new textures for your scenery sets. It also provides you with a reference for copyrighted material that is use in the baseline packages, as well as sets by other companies and individuals.

- Color Landform Maps of the United States
Beautiful sat images of the U.S. for use as a reference in your designs. This is version 2 of the Color Landform Atlas of the United States. It has less glitz ( see one of the old state pages) but more content. Each state link brings up a menu of links to maps and other online information about the state. There are two main types of
links on each state page: maps and images local to this site, and links to external web sites. The external links may break from time
to time but will be fixed where possible.
PLEASE READ THE REMAINDER OF THIS PAGE !
(The links are in "bold" instead of "red")
1. These representations of copyrighted material are for reference purposes only.
2. The © copyright notation refers to the texture when the original author is clearly identified.
The source file hold's it's own original copyright protection.
Please see the Reference document for information on Source files
3. The © symbol is not used when noting the author of the source file alone.
4. Documentation in many cases is minimal and mistakes (hopefully few) will be made.
5. Please send any corrections or criticisms to : we are looking for a database manager. Interested?
6. Due to the compression and reduction process used to image the originals, loss of detail
and distortion is significant. Some textures that appear similar are, in the original, very different.
7. Images are displayed as viewed with Visual Object Designer's texture viewer (© Rafael Sanchez)
except for textures displaying lettering or objects, in which case the texture is "flipped"
8. The page uses frames. Enter Here
