IRIS F35 Joint Strike Fighter

Recommended Posts

I have a problem with the IRIS F35 Joint Strike Fighter (the free one). I am trying to use it as an AI plane, but when it taxis, the downward jet blast results in lots of sparkling lights coming up from the ground. I am pretty sure that this is some kind of dust effect, but I can't seem to find the effect that is responsible. I had to do something similar with the Wilco Harrier, and that involved the removal of the fx_RCB_Smoke45.fx and fx_RCB_Smoke90.fx files.

Can anyone help me here? I have eliminated the afterburner effect by removing the fx_jsf_burner.fx file (since afterburner glow when taxiing is rather silly), but this "dust" effect is annoying me.

I'm not sure, but from your description I'd say that it sounds like some crash effects(like the ones you'll get when you overrotate the POSKY 747). Maybe try to disable all the effects listed in the aircraft.cfg by putting "//" (without quotation marks) in front of the line, reload the aircraft and see, if the effect is still there, the move on to the next line etc. until you've found the culprit. Then simply remove this effect or leave the comment sign ("//") in the aircraft.cfg.

Regards,

Flo

So, does anyone have any more suggestions for this problem? I would still like to run FSX in DX9 mode if possible....
