Most likely you did not alias a panel to an addon aircraft correctly. Like maybe a Posky aircraft? You say you have no addons or new installs but your error report says otherwise. In any case one of your aircraft panels is not configured properly.

Best regards,

Jim

Hi Jim- thanks for your quick reply! And my mistake, that should have read no new recent installs of addons. It ran stable for a while after new addons were installed, then the UIAutomation error came up. As soon as I resolved that, the panels.dll error came up. Ive uninstalled the recent addon aircraft upto a point where I know there were no errors at all but still getting the Panels.dll error. I am just now doing a complete reinstall of FSX from scratch and hoping it will resolve the issue. Thanks again for your reply- I appreciate it! :)

I am just now doing a complete reinstall of FSX from scratch and hoping it will resolve the issue.

I think reinstalling FSX is the best move. Take your time and make sure you start FSX once installed before installing Acceleration. I'm thinking you might have somehow installed SP2 then Acceleration. The uiautomationcore.dll only solves menu crashes so, if you are not having those, then you should not place a Vista version in your main FSX folder. Another possibility is a missing MSV or dotnet (uiautomationcore.dll is part of the dotnet packages). MSV's are used to make sure your program was installed properly the way the developer of the product wanted. Dotnet's are used to run your program properly, including memory management. You had the infamous exception - Memory Access Violation (0x0000005) too which happens if FSX is looking for a texture or gauge and cannot find it. I've looked on the Internet and some back in the old FS9 days fixed the problem once in a while by reinstalling the video card drivers. A problem could occur too if you have more than one monitor and placing a panel on one and running FSX on another. I'm passing all of this on as I'm not really sure of your current setup/configuration.

I strongly recommend following this guide - http://support.precisionmanuals.com/KB/a87/how-to-uninstall-and-reinstall-fsx.aspx when uninstalling/reinstalling FSX and that you run a registry cleaner in between uninstalling/reinstalling. It's really strange how some of these errors/crashes pop up as your configuration seems normal.

Best regards,

Jim

Well Im onto the third install now since this problem arose. I followed the instructions on removal and reinstallation to a T, and even with a base install of FSX Acceleration, still got the panels.dll error/ctd.

It happens with the default B737, CRJ700 and Lear45. What I did notice was that I will get the panels.dll CTD if I start a flight on the ground. Within 20 seconds of take-off, the error shows up. However, if I start a flight in the air- no problems. I can fly for hours and land. But as soon as I land and then attempt a take-off, panels.dll CTD rears its ugly face again.

I have installed it to C:FSX the last 2 times, which is a new practise for me. In all my other installs, I installed to default location (Program Files (x86)), and had no issues until these recent weeks.

I have also run AddItPro 7.36 to help identify which panel or gauge was coming up in its error report. It did point to an POSKY aircraft, which I then removed. No change to the CTD after the removal. I then went to the extent of having nothing but default aircraft- still CTD.

This has turned into a nightmare for me... :(

FSX is looking for Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5638. Specifically a certain version 8.0.50727.6195 for microsoft.vc80 which belongs to a security update to MSV2005 SP1. I do not know how you got the 6910 version but people on the Internet are having all kinds of problems with it. The only way you can get the security update is by running Windows Update.

Best regards,

Jim

I had the same problem with the CTD's caused by panels.dll.

After I had "extended pilot logbook" by Skytalkteam uninstalled, everything went back normal.

Thanks for posting your experience maikchaos. I also had Extended Pilot Logbook installed. On a brand new FSX installation, I experienced the panels.dll fatal error again. I uninstalled Extended Pilot Logbook and like you, everything returned to normal.

Frustrating that there is no support for that software, especially after paying $25.00 for it on Simmarket.

Thanks for posting your experience- I would've been scratching my head for ages trying to figure this out.

Cheers!

There's a logbook repair utility in the AVSIM Library that repairs the main FSX logbook. Perhaps those logbooks are conflict or the main one needs to be repaired. Look for FSX Logbook Recovery in the AVSIM Library.
