FSX Missions

Recommended Posts

Hello

After having FSX for a few months and  flying around I thought I would try out some of the included missions and I have a couple of questions that I hope someone can answer for me,

I  am using Ultimate Traffic 2 and notice that the missions still include the default AI traffic such as Orbit despite the sliders in FSX being set to zero, is this normal?

I'm also trying out the Rome to Naples run mission and I am sure when I first installed FSX this took place in the day time but now find its at night, does anyone know why this is the case? I have tried looking in the settings but cannot see If i have changed something I shouldn't have.

Many thanks

Darran

Re. 1: This is normal, sometimes even "required", because that was the only way MS could provide traffic in the missions, that "interacts" with you (e.g. the aircraft waiting for you to land at Juliana). They are assigned to the mision in the *.FLT file of the mission, somewhere at the bottom of the file, so if it really annoys you, you can change it, but in this case I'd recommend you to back the file up before playing around with it.

Setting the slider to 0 will only make the traffic vanish that is not directly related to the mission.

Re. 2: I'm not sure what could cause that, but you could also try to manipulate the *.FLT file of the mission, there's a line defining the time, so you could see if changing that has an effect. Again, make sure to have a back up of the file if something goes wrong!

You're welcome!

It should be in your Main FSX/Missions folder. Go to the corresponding sub-folder for  the "type" of mission (i.e. Tutorial, The Good Life, Backcountry, Just for Fun etc), and further to the folder of the particular mission. In that folder there should be some files, one of which is the *.FLT file.
