Reshade is a game changer

Recommended Posts

Quick shot nothing special but thought I would throw this out there - p3d went from nice to wow no fps hit at all easy install and no tweaking - huge thanks to original poster for the easy install - also take some flights around Tennessee - tons of beautiful rolling hill and Valleys

Here is the install directions and link to files - well done - FYI screenshots need to be taken with external program such as snag-it which I use if not the V key will just give you default coloring - space bar turn effect on and off

Rich, buddy, the ReShader you keep pointing everyone too, while it works, is out-dated.  There are new features and a new user friendly GUI interface for setting up each shader for those who don't want to stare at Notepad and scratch their head trying to figure things out.

Get the latest version off of the ReShade.me website.    It is 0.19.2 BETA.    Grab the ReShade w/ Framework version to get the full effects package.   Full the instructions please.   Be surprised how many people download this and just toss it in their P3D/FSX directory thinking it's ENB.  It is NOT.  Read before you leap!

Great looking screen caps none the less.  I have used ReShade now for months and months.   Wouldn't go anywhere without it.

The nice thing about the new version too is it let's you make multiple profile settings per game you have it attached too.  So for me, I have a masterfx preset for Day flying and one for night.  I just load up the GUI and load the one I need once the sim boots and I am in the cockpit and away I go.  ZOOM ZOOM!

Thanks brother I downloaded ReShade 0.19.2 Public Beta and MasterEffect 1.1.287 public not sure how these work together going by the older file structure - this is a bit different as there is a new folder in the mastereffects folder of matereffects called internal but when I launch p3d I get this error reshade error x3004 undeclared identifier warp - if you need screenshots let me know

Rich, buddy,

Here is the old structure and the new now its different maybe this might help you figure out what I am looking at - thanks Brian

Just saw your framework post - downloading that now - I hate reading directions lol

What I am not understanding is how mastereffects integrates with with re-shade only launched reshade gui and of course all of the sweetfx stuff is there but not interested in that I like the simplicity of the master effects of the original files I loaded how can I just update those files - sweetfx thing been down taht road and got away from it but like the file setup being used from post #44

I nailed down a solid reshade+framework profile. At night though. No go.

You WILL require two profiles, one for day and one for night.    That is the whole reason I got the new Rehade w/ Framework because of the ease at which it let's you make profiles for different scenarios.     All you do is leave the GUI running for ReShader, load your current FX file you use for day flights then load a night scenario and make new adjustments then on the front interface of the ReShade Mediator under Global Presets you type in a new profile name and click the ADD (mine says update because I have not typed in a new name) button and it will save your new settings under that name.   Your old settings for day flying will be under whatever you named it the first time.    Then all you do is bring up which profile you want it to load before you fly and you are good to go.

You shouldn't need a MasterFX file as it is all packaged with the Reahder w/ Framework.      And don't sneer at the SweetFX entries in the Mediator.  :)    This isn't SweetFX.    That is just their shader files and not the engine that runs it.   There is nothing wrong with SweetFX shaders.    They are quite good at what they do.   Be sure you remove ALL instances of ANY previous ReShader from your P3D/FSX folder or you are going to have a train wreck.        The new ReShader W/ Framework does NOT get installed into P3D.  You install the files into it's own directory and run the ReShade Mediator and point it at the EXE of your simulator.  It will take care of the rest.

Brian,

would it be possible to share your two profiles (for day and night flying)? This way one would have a good starting point to find their own favorite profile. The ones that come with Reshade and Framework aren't really usable for flight simulation (at least in my opinion). And I honestly don't know where to start tweaking all those hundreds of different parameters. I know, it's a matter of trial-and-error, but having a good starting point would be extremely helpful...

And one final question: Did you do any tweaking on the HDR in Prepar3d (as has been discussed here on AVSIM a couple of weeks ago) in addition to using Reshade?

Sorry for the delay guys.   I had to hop on a real plane and fly out over the weekend.  When I am done repacking I'll get a link up pointing to my my two profiles for day and night flying.   And now, I have not tweaked any HDR files for P3D at all.    Don't need to.  Reshade does all the tweaking.
