PMDG737NGX Tutor files for FSX Acceleration

Recommended Posts

I have PMDG737 Tutor files in P3Dv3.1 all loading and flying ok:
F:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\PMDG\PMDG 737 NGX\PanelState
C:\Users\Vaughan\Documents\Prepar3D v3 Files

But, in FSX I only have files here:
F:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\PMDG\PMDG 737 NGX\PanelState
And I may have copied these from from the P3d folder some time ago when I got my new PC .. cannot recall but the are the same as the ones in P3D at any rate.

No PMDG files in here ... where FSX would expect to load them from.
C:\Users\Vaughan\Documents\Flight Simulator X Files

I got a new PC some months ago and downloaded the newest installers for P3D and FSX and the PMDG Ops center says all is up to date.

I seen a note in the forum about SP1D having them but I think SP1D is included in the current installers??

So, I need help getting the correct PMDG737NGX Tutor flight / Panel state files files for FSX Acceleration.

The tutorial files are still loaded to documents\prepare3d v2, have a look in there.

Dan,

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, as I mentioned, no problems with loading PMDG737 tutor flights using P3Dv3.1

My problem is with FSX .. no PMDG737 Tutor flights present in the documents folder.

Ah, I had to reread your post... sorry.  I just checked my box with both FSX and FSXSE and the respective document folders have the tutorial files.

Try running the installer again, as admin, and select repair and see if that puts them in place.

Dan,

The repair wil not corrupt my installed aircraft etc .. correct??

If it will not, I will give it a try ...

Dan,
I did the Repair of the PMDG737-8900 Base Pack only .. not the 600700 Expansion Pack..

It created a Steam folder in mydocuments folder (screenshot) and all the tutor files are in there.

C:\Users\Vaughan\Documents\Flight Simulator X - Steam Edition Files

My guess is I need to copy them into the correct FSX folder here: ??

The installer thinks you have FSXSE installed. If you once had it and removed it, the registry didn't get cleaned by the Dovetail installer that did the removal. This is fixable, but mean while you most certainly can just move those files to the FSX documents folder.

I wonder what else Dovetail did to your machine. Good luck.

Dan,

Thanks for the help and answers. Much appreciated.

I never had FSXSE installed.

But I do have Xplane10 .. which I purchased from Dovetail Steam .. on accident.

I thought at the time of purchase it was just a site for purchases.

So, PMDG installer must know I have a Steam product ... but it is not Steam FSX!

When the Steam system / internet goes down or my internet connection is bad .. then I cannot start Xplane10. It verifies and track my logins/usage as far as I can tell.

And, that purchase means Tech Support is from Aerosoft .. go figure?

So, any of my new a purchase(s) from any developer will be directly from the developer or a proven source  .. if possible with support from the developer.

Ok, now I will go copy the files to the FSX folder and load the PMDG737NGX to see if all is working properly.

Edit:

Was about to copy files and I noticed the installer installed the Tutor files into the the correct FSX folder as well as the Steam folder.....!

Installed both. Interesting.  I assume the Operations Center correctly identifies that you have NGX for FSX and not FSXSE?

Yeah, I started with XPlane Steam then dumped it in my new build. It was worth the cost for a direct download.

Yep, the ops center (just checked again) shows FSX and my -600 Area 51 repaint .... and All up to date message.

I had checked it before I posted here also.

When I first started FSX the splash screen vanished.

Then I tried again.

Got an error box that said I now have a problem with LevelD DLL

FSX detected a problem.

Company: Level D Simulations Panels for Flight One Publishing

File: Modules\LevelD.dll

I never new I had it ...

Ask I I wanted to continue load FS .. I said yes.

It loaded and I selected the EHAM ready for takeoff flight .. all looks good there.

So, I will have to figure out the LD dll thing .....

Edit:

I rebooted PC ... no errors loading FSX, LevelD or PMDG .... Dang ....lucky day!
