Rudder Pedals and Aircraft rock and roll on the ground

I fly the PMDG B737NGX and I have just attempted to setup the flight controls using FSUPIC. The Rudder pedals are Saitek Pro-Rudder pedals. After calibrating them and then attempting a short flight, on taxiing each time I attempted to turn left or right the visual effect was that the aircraft was rolling from side to side much like a boat would. Any clues as to what I am doing wrong or haven't done in FSUPIC?

A long shot - but try taxiing with an outside view enabled - are the rudder pedals causing any spurious movement of the ailerons or spoilers?

That sort of movement wouldn't make any difference in real life - but anything's possible in a sim...

I haven't any ideas regarding the PMDG aircraft, but I do see the rock and roll effect on some of the freeware aircraft I use, notably large ones - AN-225 and IL-76 for example. Try slowing down before turning? 

 

I don't think the phenomenon is specific to PMDG...

Might be worth asking about this on the PMDG 737NGX Forum. I don't recall seeing this type of problem when using FSUIPC with the PMDG NGX737.

Sounds familiar! You have to be very smooth applying steering on a 737, not sure why but it atually does lurch about a bit if you are rough. the NGX replicates this well.

 

It's actually realistic!!

Thanks guys, your responses have been somewhat helpful and I think I have the steering and brakes setup reasonably well. However I now have a problem with the speed brakes. In the cockpit view the speed brake lever keeps jumping in and out of the down position. On the external view the speed brakes keep extending and retracting. I am using the GoFlight TQ6 advanced module with the B737 throttle levers.

Hi Neil,

 

Might be worth checking to see if your reverse thrusters are coming on by themselves & require re calibrating.

 

I noticed when setting up my PFC Advanced Jet throttle that this could happen if the thrusters do not go back to idle.
