Buttons don't work in P3D - FSX default

Recommended Posts

Dear community,

after having used FS Linda before in FSX I don't get it to work in P3D with the default aircrafts.

What it does:

-It seems to connect to P3D 3.3.5.17625 (FSX sync illuminated and I see a text message in P3D)

-When I press buttons I see a reaction in FS Linda (BTW, is it normal that I get to see more buttons than actually physically available?)

-I can define what a button should do no the "on press" state

What it does not do:

-trigger an event in P3D.

Tried this with record keypress or the defined controlls without any positive effect.

Tried this with ver 2.8.9 and 2.9.1

In P3D all button assignments are removed

Looking forward for some hints what I could try to do.

BR

Dan

Never give up!

So I reinstalled the drivers and made a reboot. Seems to work now...

Hi Dan, welcome to the LINDA community.

First of all, I recommend you download and install the latest versions of LINDA and FSUIPC4 (2.9.2 and 4.962a). There was an error that could cause the assignments to be removed as you report.

If you have previous made successful assignments to your joysticks, then you will find date/time stamped backups in the aircraft configuration folder (/linda-cfg/aircrafts/{your aircraft}/config-hid-YYMMDDHHMM.lua). Once you find the correct one, copy it to config-hid.lua.

Come back you me if you still have a problem.

Update.

On certain occasion, e.g. when I switch the a/c it stops to work, even for the generic P3D functions like change view.

BTW, I have a Saitek X-56 Hotas.

Sometimes after changing the aircraft it is worth clicking on Reload Lua Engine and making sure the the aircraft name is highlighted in orange at the top of the LINDA window (click on FSXSYNC if not).

Hi ScotFlieger,

thanks for your advice. I will try it out, but might take some days. I'll keep you posted.
