No VC shadows on PMDG 737 NGX

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

I am a fellow FSX user in need of help! I have the PMDG 737 NGX and I also use Steve's DX10 fixer. I also use addons like REX and AS16. I normally get VC shadows on every aircraft I have thanks to Steve's fixer. However, on the PMDG 737 NGX, I see absolutely no shadows in the cockpit. I have checked on the forums too and my settings are as proposed. The ForceVCShadowMap=1 command at the display section of fsx.cfg exists, the settings at Steves DX10 fixer are correct. However, I get no shadows. What could be wrong?

Did you add the shadows in the toolbox?

I am away from my Flight Sim PC so I can't directly check for a few days but...

I still use legacy FSX with DX10SF and isn't there a NGX tab on (I think) the Shadows menu to make sure it works properly?

I don't fly the NGX often (I use the iFly 737 a lot more) but shadows do work in it.

Cheers,

Mark

Make sure you are also using the latest SP of the NGX (some years ago now I think).

Go into the FSX settings and make sure DX10 is enabled.  It might show it is enabled in DX10 Fixer but is it really?

Best regards,

Jim
