  1. Could be a Community folder conflict, for example, do you have any addon liveries in your Community folder? BTW, I see an updated version of the TDS GTN 750 was released about 5 hours ago. Al
  2. If anyone using eye tracking happens to wear glasses I'd be interested to know how the eye glasses impact eye tracking. Thanks, Al
  3. If you mean why is the aircraft cfg file encrypted, you would have to ask MS. It is certainly not a developer decision. Al
  4. If you are having an issue with FSUIPC7 connecting to simconnect "automatically" and don't want to look at the log file, one approach would be to simply try some values. The default value for DetectToConnectDelayAuto is 60, which apparently is not working on your system if your are having a problem, so then try a value of 100. If 100 works either live with that or try a value of 80. If 100 doesn't work try 120 or 150, etc. It should not take very long to find a reasonable and reliable value. I think the max value is 400 or more. My understanding is the value you use is not critical as long as it works reliably. So if the value you use is actually 30 sec more than necessary, it just means you will have to wait 30 sec more than necessary for FSUIPC7 to connect, but connect it will. If necessary, use the same idea with the other parameters. I expect John will have some better ideas. Al
  5. The thread Bobsk8 posted shows how to look at your FSUIPC log file and then enter and set a FSUIPC7.ini file parameter called DetectToConnectDelayAuto under the [General] section if FSUIPC7 is loaded automatically, or the parameter called DetectToConnectDelay under the [General] section if FSUIPC7 is loaded manually. The thread also contains a test FSUIPC7.exe version (7.4.11A) that you can download if needed that seems to work. You just paste the file as a replacement into the location where your current FSUIPC7.exe file is and restart the sim. Al
  6. My mistake, sorry, wrong plane! 🙁 No, there is no default keyboard entry to launch/stow the EFB. If you have a registered (payware) version of FSUIPC7 I can send you a C414 controls lua script that will allow you to assign keys or buttons for 26 different C414 controls including the EFB. If interested PM me your email address. Al
  7. I would check that something didn't get mysteriously changed under Assistance Options, like AutoMixture, etc. Al
  8. Well, something is clearly not right. If it worked yesterday but not today, something has changed. This problem is not being reported on the FSW Discord which is very active, and I can't replicate the problem, just tried it. You want to click in the center of the EFB's top white bezel to move it up to the window mount. If that doesn't work: 1. Check that the mouse is working as expected by using it to hide and unhide the yoke (click on the end of the yellow pen which is to the left of the pilot). 2. If you are using one of the GTN750 versions of the plane, make sure you have the latest version of your GTN750. 3. Make sure you are using a stock FSW livery. Addon liveries that have not been updated to work with the latest version of the plane have caused all kinds of problems. 4. Check that you don't have some kind of strange controller binding issue, which has happened. Assuming your controllers are USB, simply unplug them, restart the sim and see if there is any change when using the mouse. 5. Another possibility is a conflict with something in your Community folder. One quick way to check for that is to rename the Community folder to back it up, create a new Community folder and only put the C414 in the new folder, restart the sim and load the GNS530 version of the C414 with a stock FSW livery and see if the EFB works. Al
  9. My understanding has been IAS or FLC is usually preferred for climbs because it provides airspeed protection against an inadvertent stall in case something unexpected happens or you get distracted for some reason. Often VS is preferred for descents because if makes calculations easier when it comes to hitting altitude constraints, such as during a STAR. You usually know how much altitude you need to lose by the time you reach some waypoint, or the traffic pattern, etc. These are just general guidelines. What I often find handy is the rule of thumb to start descending 3 x the number of feet you have to lose in 1000s NM out, and use a VS of 5 x your ground speed. So if you have to lose 12000ft and your ground speed is 250 Kts, start about 3 x 12 = 36 NM out (it is good to add 10% to this) and use 5 x 250 =1250ft/min to approximate a 3 degree descent. It is interesting to watch a VNAV system work because you can often predict what it is going to do based on the above calculations -- kind of fun. Al As an aside, VS = 5 x GS is also a good starting point on a 3 deg approach.
  10. The CUSTOM and INFO sub-directories are strictly informational for the user, they have nothing to do with the actual install. The Flysimware_C414AW_Chancellor.exe is the installer file and it does not make any use of the files in the CUSTOM and INFO directories. Al
  11. I don't have any problems with the HDG bug or the altitude selector. Are you using a default FSW livery and have the latest PMS50 GTN update? Al
  12. I don't have the problem, and I have not seen any similar reports on the FSW Discord site, so I assume something is not right with your setup. If you have the latest version of the C414 (v4.4.5), then try reinstalling it. And of course, use a default FSW livery. If that doesn't fix the problem, then I would try the Community folder test I outlined above to check for some other conflict. If you don't own the TDS GTN750Xi Pro, then you can buy it at https://www.tdssim.com/ Al
