AVSIM's VFR Flight Center - Reader's Comments
| Right
from day one we started getting comments from (mostly) enthusiastic
Avsim visitors. It just seems like a good idea to have a place to
post some of those comments, and some of the ideas and pictures you
have sent us.
Keep
it coming, we love it !!! (This is all just
to boast our egos of
course ;-) )
Oh, the latest comments are on top...... earlier ones, please scroll
down !!!

Hello
Francois & Aiden,
I just wanted to say thank you for the great idea and the work that
you
have put into this site. It really helps other people to enjoy
flight
simming.
FWIW I have added a strong recommendation for your site in the
"recommended links & products" section (section 4) at:
http://www.tooby.demon.co.uk/P_Assist_Home.html
Best regards,

I
was looking at your flight plans and I see that they all seem to have
waypoints.
I would suggest that you use some navaids instead of just waypoints.
This would make flying a bit easier especially for the newcomers to
flight sim,
Thanks

try to get a proper mix.... bear with us ;-) Francois) |

Hello
Francois
Thank you for the notice.
But there is a problem: I don't find the links to download standard
*.pln flight plans for people that don't have FSNavigator v4. Is it
possible to download them ? Or maybe these flightplans are compatible
with FS nav v3 ?
Kindest regards
Lionel
(We
are working on that Lionel.... thanks! Francois) |

......
stuff deleted.......
Asking pilots to send in their favorite short, VFR flight plan in
.fsn
format would give you some ideas, that's for sure. Too many
for you to fly
yourself. :-o I guess you could post a file with all the
.fsn's that are
sent in and get back a vote from us all. Let us pick a favorite
besides our
own and you'll get a great Top 10 list without having to fly 100 flights.
FWIW
Best, Rob
(Wonderful
idea Rob, we'll try and get it going in not too distant future !!
Thanks, Francois) |

Hello
Francois,
You might have a look at my web site and find the VFR flights we made
during the Eagle AIR Eurotour tours we have flown.
In the zipped files flightplan and route chart are included; eventually
I can provide the FSNav plans as well.
regards,
Ton Out

Well
I think you have a great idea here! Thank you for your time and efforts.
I just flew your flight plan Olympia to Ranger Creek. I used real
weather and the Abacus Piper Navajo. Well, I got to tell you the visibility
was zero scattered clouds at 7000 and overcast at 11,000. This was
not a VFR flight.
I attempted this flight 3 times, well that was enough! No way was
I going to land, I couldn't even see the airport.

Hello
Francois.
This is one of the best ideas I've seen for the Sim Community:-)
Excellent !!
I would suggest thought, that the plan's format is not for a payware
program, like NAVIGATOR 4x, but for a Freeware like Navigator 3x.
One can easily import those FP's in FSNaV4x then, if he has bought
it.
That way you will have more People visiting the Site:-)
One Idea is to Upload .zip files with the FP in the format you are
going
to Decide, 1 small screeshot of the trip, as well as a small .txt
file
,letting the user know the special features of that area, and the
Freeware add on's one has to use, in order to enjoy the Ride.
Inside the .txt will be the names of those .zip's, so with a search
at
the AVSIM Site , everything can be ready.
Greetings from Greece:-)

working on getting multiple flight plan formats included. Thanks Babis!

Francois
its a very nice setup you have there !!
Excellent !
