Since our last visit to Cannes in November
last year some new freeware of that area scenery saw the light,
so I decided it was about time to fly around that area myself. We had a great
vacation a few years ago in the area
of Cannes and visited all the famous (and not so famous) places around the coast
and more inland.
Believe me, there is a lot to be seen, and certainly a lot more than just the
sunny beaches
(although that obviously IS one of the big attractions of the French Riviera).
My flight took me from Cannes Mandelieu down
to the coast. From there I flew westward towards St. Raphael (fix 03 on the
flight plan). From there on to Les Issambres (fix 04, that's where we stayed
during the holidays) and on to
St. Tropez (fix 05 and fix 06).
From St. Tropez I flew all along the coast to Nice (to fix 07 and on to the
airport),
then to Cap Ferrat (fix 08) and from there on to
Monte Carlo (fix 11).
Then it started to get dark and I had to make my way back to Cannes in time
for a daylight landing.
The wonderful scenery of Olivier
Bochu made this trip really worth while. It is always a joy to recognize
places
in the virtual world where one has been in real life as well. I have added some
pictures and
links of the real world, in case you might decide to go there yourself. Recommended
