Guest VFR Flights with X-Plane and Fly2  

Today's addition to the VFR Center is the first of what we hope to be a regular feature.  We received an e-mail from Chris, who lives in Belgium and who is a regular visitor to the Avsim site, and the VFR Center.  Chris is an avid Fly!, Fly2 and X-Plane simmer and asked if we could include some of his flights on the VFR Center. Since we have not yet established a good 'Guest procedure' these first flights are a little bit off the now standard model that we have adopted. Nevertheless we think it is a great opportunity to get more diversity in our pages, in terms of authors and in terms of different platforms.

Switzerland, X-Plane

Bern - Sion

This is the second part of the flight that Chris sent to us.  The first leg was in a A320 Airbus (from Nice, France to Bern, Switzerland), and the second in the Bonanza which is depicted below.  After take off, turn towards Thun using the GPS.  On arrival at the waypoint, turn towards SIO (112.15) Chris says to watch the mountain peaks at this point!

Around Los Angeles

This flight over Los Angeles starts and finishes at KLAX.  It is a loop around 4 VOR's   Take off from KLAX and climb straight out and turn onto radial 270 on the VTU (Ventura) VOR 108.20, and climb to maintain altitude of 7000ft.  2nm before the VTU beacon, take inbound radial 013 to FIM (Filimore) 112.50.  On arrival at the FIM beacon, take radial 097 to NNY (Van Nuys) 113.10.  The next VOR is POM (Pomona) 110.40, which is tracked on the 090 radial.  At the POM VOR, descend to 4000ft and turn right onto the ROMEN NDB 278.00 and fly inbound back towards KLAX for landing.
