Australian Basin Operations Center (AUS): Darwin, Australia [AUW - Northwest Australia/Southeast Indian Ocean 90E to 135E; and AUE - Northeast Australia/Coral Sea 135E to 160E]
The northern coast of Australia has now been divided into two basin, since the type and origin of cyclones is different between the two. Darwin offers WHI a prime location for its base to address storms in both of these basins, thus we use a combined operations center. The staging areas listed below are the primary ones used by WHI, however the large northern coast of the continent offers a myriad of sites from which to launch WHI missions. (Perth, Australia; Broome, Australia; Cairns, Australia; Brisbane, Australia)
