Jim,

Recommendation for whenever you publish the next updates - provide instructions on the path for where to find the "real" or operational FSX.cfg and scenery.cfg. Are all the other files like dll.xml and exe.xml in the FSX root? I have more than one of each config leftover from FS2004 and I have to do a search in Windows Explorer to find the right path. Just a suggestion. Thanks.

This is shown on page 6 of the guide.

Totally missed that in the CTD guide, sorry. I had expected it at the beginning of the Tweaks section on the first page of the Basic configuration guide (which was actually what I was thinking about when I made my recommendation) and then again in the CTD guide close to instructions relevant to them. I don't go to them often enough to remember, so I always have to search for it. Early onset alzheimers, I think... ;-)

Cheers

Thank you for the post! I just found out (today) that my issue was a conflict between my Flight1 ATR and my PMDG. As soon as I set all of the PMDG modules in the dll.xml file to DISABLE = TRUE.. everything has worked fine!
I see it is referenced in the document, but not specifically this issue.

And for me, the game would load up fine, and I could fly for a long time before CTD, always with the F1 ATR.

I'm using FSX Steam (didn't have this problem with FSX original).

Many thanks for this guide. I was having major FREEZE issues with my FSLabs 320X on FSX SE. I tried all the tricks from their forum without any luck. It was driving me nuts for weeks. Just one morning with this guide got me finally flying again!

MANY MANY THANKS!!!!
