Unable to set V1 speed at the top of airspeed indicatio...

Featured Replies

I am unable to set the V1 speed at the top of airspeed indication (ref. "Normal Procedures" manual - page 8 "Final Flight Deck Preparation. I have checked and double-checked the CDU/FMC settings..the V2 settings are set in the CDU and on the MCP IAS/MACH display...but to no avail. So, when I press the TO/GA screw - the aircraft accelearates smartly down the runway and when we reach rotation speed it throttles back and starts slowing down...What am I missing (see attched screenshots)? I don't recall this happening before installing SU1.I am using the default -600 aircraft in 2D mode in FS2002.I have usedn the remove tool and reinstalled the whole enchilada.I am running windows 2000 (SP3).Help me get this mother off the ground..Thanks in advance,Claus

ClausAs far as I can see you have the V1 ref bug on top of the speed tape there. You have all the V-speeds in the FMC. But the thing that's strange is that the magenta speed bug is showing 0 and your MCP speed setting shows 120. That would be the problem here I think. The MCP and ADFS are not aligned. Don't know why though. Try changing the MCP speed setting and see if the speed bug will follow. And be sure that speed bug is not 0 before T/O. Otherwise I recommend a visit at the mechanics hangar. ;-)Regards,

Hi Matts -The speed bug definitely does not follow the MCP setting. That was not the case before "upgrading" to SU1 etc.But if I set the MCP setting after clicking the "mach", the speed bug will follow. However, pressing the TO/GA screw gives the same sad result...acceleration down the runway until VR - then throttles are cut.My passengers are very unhappy at this point following umpteen aborted take-offs.We are now considering chopping the wings off and taxiing to our destination!Any other ideas - anyone?Claus

Here is a closer look at the display....

Are you using any joystick/yoke throttles? What position are they in? Maybe noise from your throttle can make them go down to 0 when A/T goes to THR HLD after xx knots? If you are using throttles, be sure to throttle them up to full on TO!Hope it helps,

Throttles are set at full bore during takeoff - and never had a problem with the Sidewinder Pro so I don't think that's it.I went back and rebooted the PC - then restarted FS2002 - selected the Cessna - then the PMDG -600 default (black and cold mode)- and the problem persists - the magenta speedbug will not align with the settings of the Mode Control Panel. So, now I think perhaps it is a bug in the SU1 - since I did not have this problem before.Claus

Problem solved - it was a defective aircraft.cfg fileAfter removing and reinstalling all the files problem resolved - nothing to do with the SU1 update.

You may have solved this problem but you can automatically ste V!/Vr V2 by just clicking on each respective LSK next to the speed. This will automatically import the numbers into the PFD.- Iman
