Restoring fligthplan part way through a flight

Recommended Posts

HiDoes anyone know if it should be possible to restore a saved flightplan part way through a previously saved flight. As time never allows me to complete a flight in one go, this facility is very important. Each time i attempt to restore a saved flight plan after reloading the saved flight using the CO ROUTE option within RTE page 1, nothing appears although restoring back at the beginning of the flight is no problem.Any help or comments much appreciatedGary

Glad it's not only me who's having this problem, Gary :-)The option to re-enter route data in flight would be nice in lieu of this. The Bulfer B737NG FMC Users Guide does state, however, that it's not possible to re-enter the ORIGIN airport. Perhaps this would inhibit the re-entry of a Co Route in flight? Notwithstanding, I'd at least hope that the entry of individual airways, destination and waypoints would be possible in flight???Cheers.Ian.

Resetting the CORTE will reset the whole FP, so as you state, not possible in flight.Entry of new wpts / rtes / arrival airport etc are ok.anthonyAnthony MertonPrecision Manuals Developmenthttp://www.precisionmanuals.com

"Resetting the CORTE will reset the whole FP, so as you state, not possible in flight.Entry of new wpts / rtes / arrival airport etc are ok."Thanks, Anthony.BTW, are we talking about real world here, or PMDG? I can re-enter a destination airport ICAO on the PMDG Route page, but nothing in the way of Airways, waypoints, etc. I get INVALID ENTRY messages in the scratchpad. Or is it just me who's having these problems? :-)Cheers.Ian.

Ian,Sorry for the late reply, I guess the thread went quickly out of sight.Real world does not allow resetting departure in flight. It should be possible to enter new wpts, airways...Could you post a screenie showing this situation and the message you get ?I looked in the code, and you'd currently get invalid entry when re-inputing an already existing wpt (this should not be, btw) or when inputting an invalid combination of airway/wpt, such as inputing a wpt not part of an airway after inputing the airway...anthonyAnthony MertonPrecision Manuals Developmenthttp://www.precisionmanuals.com

"It should be possible to enter new wpts, airways...Could you post a screenie showing this situation and the message you get ?"I can't think of any additional info a screenie would have added, Anthony. The FMC ROUTE page accepted any destination airport without hesitation, the PERF INIT page accepted all the normal entries, but, even though the ND was awash with navaids, none was accepted by the LEGS page. An INVALID ENTRY msg appeared in the SP each time. I recall that the DEPARR page wouldn't let me select whatever airport was shown there... and that the option to Activate or Execute something never arose.I think it's time for me to accept the fact that we're talking about two different simulators here ;-). Unfrtunately, I can't download your sim files again... I'll let those in-the-know fill you in on the details... my fingers are having a hard time re-familiarizing themselves with my old laptop keyboardand pointign device.Adios amigos.Ian.
