Control wheel steering "pitch" Will display CWS P if a roll mode was already selected prior to engaging CMD A or B, should display CWS P and CWS R on the FMA if no AP mode is selected prior to engaging CMD A or B

Note, CWS is not simulated. What it would do in the real aircraft is it would keep the pitch/roll angle when the AP was engaged. In CWS P only the pitch would be held and in CWS R only the roll would be held. You can always "set" a new attitude by applying force on the control wheel. In fact, if you have a different mode engaged, such as heading select, applying "turning" force will result in the AP switching back to CWS R.Again, this is not simulated.Regards,Mark

Well, considering what the others said my experience was a bit strange. Aircraft at cruise, VNAV + LNAV both active, A/P A engaged. Dialled in a new lower ALT and pressed V/S. Or.. so I thought. VNAV would not disengage, plane wouldn't descend, nor could I choose a V/S using the thumbwheel. Even pressing the A/P disengage bar did nothing.Everytime I pressed the V/S button I got the CWS P displayed (remember AP still engaged at this point). Anyway, all AP functions returned to normality after changing the cockpit view (think I pressed the ZOOM icon).Ah well, just one of those little things that make FS life interesting! ;-)Cheers,Paulhttp://www.strontiumdog.plus.com/sbird.jpgOfficially licenced by British Airways plc for use of name and logo[p]AMD XP2800+ Barton, Gigabyte GA-7NNXP nForce2, 1Gig Crucial PC3200 DDR 400MHz, Gainward 128 MB GF4-4200, SB Audigy, 3 x WD Caviar SE[/p]
