I have been trying for over two weeks now to reach Ray Pennington (or Jim Turner, who did some modifications to Ray's panel as well) via e-mail to secure permission to distribute a new Lear35 panel based on an old FS98 panel of his.I had an old e-mail, and somebody provided me with a supposedly current e-mail, but I have yet to hear anything from anybody. So, question for the masses, and other freeware authors. The legal disclaimer on the original panel distribution reads thus:"This panel and all contents herein are strictly freeware and are absolutely not to be used in any product for profit without the permission of the authors."My panel, being just a modification/update, will of course be released under the same freeware notice, and all due credit will be given to both Ray and Jim, and the original Readme.txt included as well, just for completeness sake.I VERY MUCH hesitate to release this file without permission, although the license seems to grant re-release under freeware terms. Am I reading this correctly/incorrectly?What is an acceptable time to wait before I "give up" on getting a response, and would it be appropriate of me to release at that point? Or, will this panel be confined to my HD only forever and ever?Any guidance/suggestions would be much appreciated! THX!
