September 9, 200322 yr Hi,referring to this threadhttp://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho..._id=18480&page=I would like to ask everyone here if they also would like to have a save/restore option. The aim is to be able to load a previously saved aircraft status that has been saved by the user before.Such a feature would allow us so save the *exact* aircaft status, shutdown FS, and continue the flight some days later. Also, it would be easier to continue flights after an FS2002-crash.This feature is really missing in the PMDG 737. Am I the only one who would like to have it?rgds Malte
September 9, 200322 yr Hi MalteNo you are not the only one that would like to have a save/retore option, il would be very useful.RgdsAndre
September 9, 200322 yr No your not the only one, I do. Enough typing, bring on the save(FMC status too)!Zubart John Floyd
September 9, 200322 yr Obviously would be a nice feature ... the question really becomes is it technically possible now with the changes introduced by FS9?Perhaps with the patch, or should I say FS2006 or COF2, whatever they call the bug fix for COF/FS9.Ray
September 9, 200322 yr Since PMDG has their own 'options' menu, saving the FMC state is possible in either version of the sim by dumping all the internal data structures to a separate file. Thus, even if hooking into the regular FS save routine is now too difficult, there is still a potential solution.
September 9, 200322 yr While that sounds quite simple, one has to assume that PMDG is actually using FSUIPC to control FS and get their data in and out of their structures through Pete's interface into FS9. Otherwise, we would not even need it. If they can't force the data back through FSUIPC and have FS9 absorb it, it doesn't really matter that they can save and load it. The joys of the addon world, gotta pity guys who write code for hidden architecture products.Ray
October 19, 200322 yr I just lost a flight from Copenhagen to Cote d'Azur; did not even complete half. A waste of time.Everything in the FMC and MCP is thrown out of the window. Same with the overhead panel. You can save the *flight plan* in the FMC, but you cannot resume your flight from a given leg.Nico
October 19, 200322 yr I'd love to have this feature too, but PLEASE, not in SU2. :) I think this "patch will be released soon" has gone on long enough as they try to implement all of the features that everyone keeps asking for. Let's let them get SU2 out already! :) It would be great if this could go in SU3 or the 800/900 though. Just my $0.02.-Shaun
October 19, 200322 yr There is a lot more here than meets the eye. Understanding the way this aircraft is developed is key. This is possible, but will take some time to implement and surely will not be here for SU2, but I would look for this maybe in a later phase (Hopefully)....[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J.
