October 4, 200322 yr What am I doing wrong?I tried to build a flightplan from KOAK to KDEN in the FMC. I have the latest AIRAC cycle in the FMCWP file in my root directory for FS9 and the sids/star database in that folder in my PMDG file, version DAFIF Cycle 0308A Developed by Terry Yingling. I am using FS9. Here's what I didIn Position INIT I input KOAK as my starting position. Then, in route page, KOAK under origin, KDEN under destination, and I get FMC Error - FMN unknown. Going into the Dep/Arr key area, I have runways and approaces/departures for Oakland, but nothing under Denver. I opened up the airports.dat file in Navdata under FMCWP with Word and KDEN was in there. All the runways are in the airports wpnav file. This is getting a bit frustrating. What's up!Thanks.Colin WarePS. - I had no trouble building the flightplan in the DF737 FMC program.
October 4, 200322 yr Hi,just a short note: Remove the SIDs/STARs for KOAK & KDEN and try the same again (but please before you do this, make a backup :-)) The main problems are the SIDs/STARs and 0308A is an old one ... i believe 0309A is the latest!Again, try first without any SID/STAR file and you look what happends! So you came down from your frustrating level :-) Keep cool ... ;-)Kind regardsRichard
October 5, 200322 yr um, that's not the sid stars database - thats the waypoingts, nav aids, airports etc. It looks like we are going to have to wait for SU2. Back to making flight plans in FS Navigator for the time being. Colin Ware
October 5, 200322 yr Sorry, you're right. To get the SID/STAR data, search for username ba747heavy and email him requesting a copy of the database.Dave Fisher
October 5, 200322 yr Hi Colin,I attach to this post a zip file containing the sids and stars for KOAK and KDEN. These files were created using a new version of Terry's converter which I am currently testing. I briefly checked both. No error was reported in the FMC. However I have not checked each single sid or star for accuracy. I am waiting SU2 to do this in light of some syntax improvements. Please report any inaccuracy and I will try to modify them.Michaelhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/41057.zip
October 7, 200322 yr Many thanks Michael. I used to fly out of KOAK on business a lot and like using the airport as my jetliner home base. Thanks again. Colin WARe
