November 17, 200322 yr Commercial Member Personally I am happy PMDG is doing the B744. After all, whatever PSS will do, it won't be a good simulation of the real one anyway! Look at their A330/A340, PSS has been overtaken by all the other payware developers out there. Flight 1, Dreamfleet, RFP-Team, PIC-Team, PMDG, all of them build better airliners than PSS ever did. And after buying the A330/340 from them, I am glad I can buy the B744 from PMDG and NOT from PSS...Best regards,Markus Markus Burkhard
November 17, 200322 yr I coudn't agree more with you here Randy. > can you imagine one done right with FS9's scenery to look at? <:-eek :-eek :-eek :-eekYes I can. I love PS13 but sometimes I just think "What if this great panel/fde would be in MSFS... Can't wait! :9Best,Bruno Francescoli.
November 18, 200322 yr >Crap. Just out of curiosity, why was the 744 decided if you>don't mind me asking? I suppose something is telling them this is where demand is. Too bad. I have no interest in 744 - I have hard time getting myself to fly anything above 50,000 lbs MTOW these days. Looking for smaller jets or turboprops ..Michael J. Michael J.
November 18, 200322 yr I'm very glad PMDG is doing the 744. I really want to fly the 747 in FS9, but I want one that is reproduced with the same accuracy and complexity as the PMDG 737NG. I can't wait for the 744. Hopefully they'll do the triple-7 next!
November 18, 200322 yr >I can't even remember having seen any 757 in Frankfurt,>Germany. And I'm there often. Which major European Airline>uses it ? A few at Iberia and at Finnair, some at British>Airways and some British Carter Airlines. And then ?>>MD-11 ? Alitalia, Finnair, Swiss, Lufthansa Cargo, UPS, Fedex,>KLM.>Still not much, you are right. But follow up of famous DC-10,>maybe you can better sell than 757 almost nobody (except the>experts of course) knows. Germany is also big Addon market.>>If not, what then ? What do "common" people really know and>see here ? 737, 747, some rare other stuff, but then Airbus>all over. >>Mike>>I guess you have never seen the German charter airline, Condor's 757-300's then? Eric
November 18, 200322 yr I just could not resist to add my two cents on this subject. There has not been a Boing 777 to the excellence of the PMDG 737NG. PMDG has said on countless statements that they have to access to the manufacturer and Boeing has done that with them. The B777 is state of the art plane today, and is flown my many of the world's airlines. It would be a very big challenge to have this plane done with all the realism of the 737NG, which has just been a pure pleasure to fly.Hope the 777 is on the PMDG drawing board. Thanks PMDG for anything you do!!!!!!!!!!!Bob Johnson
November 18, 200322 yr You know what I'd like to see? I know there's already two on the drawing board, but I'm skeptical of them. Of course I haven't seen or heard much about them, but knowing past products of one of the companies, I'm skeptical. Everyone's clamoring for PMDG to go up in scale. I suggest going down in scale. Why? Seems that the single biggest advancement in aviation occuring right now is in the regional industry. Think about it. Every major carrier has a reginal outfit. There's tons of small RJ's about. My vote would be for a CRJ or ERJ. There's not a single decent CRJ about yet, and the ERJ that's out (Bill Grabowski's fabulous freeware ERJ) is a little long in the tooth and is missing an FMC. Why not an ERJ with full systems adaption, FMC and terrific flight model. That would be my vote.Joe G.
November 18, 200322 yr >awwwww :( :( :(>>When was this decided ???>>TeroI image it was before that shot was taken of Lefteris and the panel ;)
November 18, 200322 yr Could I ask something?Theres all this talk about developing a new plane for FS9, but what about the 737-800/900? As much as I would love to see a 744 for FS9, I would much rather see one project finished before another one is started!Happy Flying
November 18, 200322 yr Great idea ... I'd also love to have a fully-detailed regional jet sim. I would be much more inclined to fly the regional routes for my VA. :)
November 18, 200322 yr >> The 744 IS the next project, just to put that to rest. Sigh, with that similar FMC/MCP than the 767 V2 (all covered in same Bulfer guide), we just sit there, look to different displays and press basically the same buttons and then put DVDs in our Virtual cabin DVD player. What a boring old .....However, you can't always get what you want, think Mick Jagger said that already :DMike
November 18, 200322 yr Hi Marc,Airbus and Boeing aircraft are made from all developers. What about a nice MD 8x/90.I would love to fly this one.GreetingsUdo
