What I'd like to see for SU3 (or FS2006 PMDG product)

Featured Replies

Okay, I realise there may not be an SU3, probably won't be a need for it, sounds like after SU2 and the 800/900 product, we'll have close to a perfect plane.BUT...Here's a wishlist for any future improvements:1. I noticed on the FMC there is a button for ACARS. How great would it be for those guys in VA's that use ACARS, if we were able integrate into the PMDG FMC. We could receive text messages from our dispatchers, WX updates, gate assignments and such right there in the panel.2. In the C-130 we have an old analogue ADF receiver. Now in the NG there's a digital one, so I'm wondering if the ADF could be tuned for the higher frequencies. Meaning, wouldn't it be cool, and this would probably have to be an FS2004 (FS2006 or beyond) improvement, but wouldn't it be neat to be able to "dial" in AM radio stations using the ADF. Not sure how it'd work, but then again, I'm not a programmer. FSHotseat does a good job with onboard entertainment, but, combined with the PMDG NG, brings my little AMD 2600XP to it's knees.3. Cabin view. Imagine you've moved yourself, via ActiveCamera probably, back to the cabin, sitting in one of the nice First Class seats, and on a monitor in back, voila! a small DVD screen where you can watch a movie. DVD playback software, embedded into the program, where you could slide the DVD movie into the DVD player, and the embedded program would play it. Cool. Probably only get 1-2 FPS, and you'd be better off watching a DVD on your laptop instead, but would be neat nevertheless.4. Covered this one before in a previous post: Networkable panel, a la the upcoming PIC767 version 2. Two guys, over the internet, one flying left seat, the other flying right seat. Every switch/display/gauge that's manipulated in one's sim, is shown exactly the same in the others'. True pilot progression for Virtual Airlines, checkrides, just overall camraderie.5. User configurable screens. I've seen via Airliners.net, that the NG is capable of configuring to different type screens based on users choice, ie. the ability to place the round gauges into the LCD screens.6. Color terrain mapping on the ND. :(Well, that's a long list, 6 of the ones I was thinking of. Of course I don't know how any of it would be done, or if it's possible, but it's always nice to dream :( Anyone else have any wild ideas?Joe G.

things I'd love to see on the 737TNG?-(as per the above) more correct lighting (plus the associated PANEL LIGHTS and FLOOD LIGHTS switches on the OH and Pedestal).-(going on once more) a COMPLETE and realistic PEDESTAL! :D(including,TCAS, WXR controls, HF/SELCAL, COM selectors, intercom telephone, RUDDER/AILERON TRIM, CAB DOOR indicator, correct communications decimals for COM1/2 and ADF1/2,even if ADF2 is something yet to be seen in FS)-flexing wings (as well as dangling engine nacelles) that would move as IAS increases, as well as when little bumps are found on the taxiway/runway, as per the real 737.-circuit braker panels ( :D )-that small panel under the main panel CDUs and next to the FMCDUswith BRT switches, BACKGROUND LIGHTS etc-an *operator interface* where different versions of subpanels/systems would be available as per real a/c operators (for example different COM equipment, ADF2 INOP(already there) or not, etc)

I agree with some of the top posters in that it would be nice to be able to shut off the flood lights when in VC mode at night. As it stands now, I switch to 2D at night cause it is just to bright flying in VC.

Here's my whishlist :-) for SU3:-Wheather radar ( definetely n.1 priority ).I used to fly with FS Flightmax and I guarentee that it brings flight simulation to the next level.-Tcas System with aural allerts implemented.-Engine outake effects ( they would look very nice if reproduced correctly ).-I also like that effect ariane simulation uses to simulate high speed turn on the ground: the aircraft actually tilts to one side as if engine is about to scrap on ground."That's all!!!"Good flying to you all,David,Future PMDG Customer

As much as I would love a working weather radar, TCAS, Flood lit panel, etc as the next person....... the ONE thing I would really look forward to is realistic Engine starts.Randy, do you think this could be achieved in the 800/900 development. I feel like I am having a hot start every time :)Also, in SU2, do the AC-DC selectors move to all positions? For eg, the AC selector does not go into the INV selection. Please, please, please realistic engine starts. I know you have to work within the limitations of MSFS but I hope you can give it a shot :) :)Randy, can you comment on this when you have time? Thanks a bunch,Dinshaw.

>>"...and ADF1/2,even if ADF2 is something yet to be..."SSW A310 has 2 ADF's. They even got an ILS box...First time in FS too...Essono Fritz

Best regards, Fritz ESSONO

My wishes are to ear voices when in cockpit...Captain speak to first officer...Attendant call for a coffee...80 kts, V1, Rotate, etc...Pushback dialog...Cabin creew announcements...I use to add this and that over and over but it would be nice to see all those voices integrated in PMDG pakageJean-ClaudeCYQB

Come on guys, get with the times, we want a DVD player on the HUD !!!! }(It would be nice to see PMDG somehow hook into the FS9 map which is actually pretty decent and get that puppy scrolling around on the screen *with* the plane ... I know Microsoft couldn't do it, but hey, you are PMDG, whats a little thing like that to stand in your way ;)Ray

80 Kts V1 Rotate is currently included in the 737 package.

I think flexing wings would be very cool ;-) http://www.airliners.net/open.file/396083/M/http://www.airliners.net/open.file/339670/M/http://www.airliners.net/open.file/471515/M/And this EICAS:http://www.airliners.net/open.file/404201/L/

Hey Dinshaw,I am not sure what sort of indications are present for a "hot" start, however, I imagine it would be a rapid increase in n1 after fuel is introduced. I don't seem to run into this problem when I run through my start up procedure. I got a smooth and slow increase of n1 until stabilizing around 25% or so (just off the top of my head). I'm interested to hear your comments!Jeff

Hey Jeff,In a nut-shell:A hot start is indicated by an abnormally rapid EGT rise after start-switch raised to idle. By monitoring fuel flow and EGT, a hot start can be anticipated before the red-line limit is exceeded on the EGT guage. For the classics I think it is somewhere around 700 deg Cel. On the NG's we have the red line as the limiting factor.Hope that is clear.Regards,Dinshaw.

You guys are unbelievable.. asking for all that :) some day PMDG is gonna charge us the price of a real 737 :)(but a TCAS would be nice)rgds, A. Weijdema (in process of buying the 737)

Thanks Dinshaw, I will check it out for the next flight I get a chance to make.Cheers,Jeff

Have you seen the more advanced GPWS systems? Since the entire world has been surveyed by satellites, every elevation is known by the system. When the aircraft is within (I dont even remember the exact numbers) a certain amount of feet from terrain, it is mapped out on the ND. (Green dots, yellow dots, and red dots) When the GPWS system warns "Caution, terrain" the terrain becomes solid yellow. If no corrective ation is taken, then terrain turns red and we here "Terrain terrain, pull up, pull up" I saw this on a video a few weeks ago. I notcied the "terr" button on the PMDG panel but as of now it does nothing.I dont know about the new 737's, but many aircraft have SFERICS in addition to weather avoidance radar. Although I dont think it would be possible to have one because I think the lighting strikes in FS9 are completely random. I might be wrong though. And I dont know if its been discussed already but a heads up display would be cool too.Ciao,Keith Yingling
