At this time I just wanted to pass along that we have the attention of 'someone" at NVIDIA in the Software Quality Assurance department and they are gathering info as at this time they are trying to reproduce the problem with Fs2k2 on a GF4mx equipped machine. So far they have no reflective textures, but don

This post is to all people who are using the "back door" way of getting reflective textures in FS2k2 with the Geforce 4 MX line of cards. I have a Geforce 4 MX440 and using the "back door" method I found out how to get them in Full Screen mode. The method is the same, just open the aircraft selection window, select the aircraft that you want to fly but don't click on "OK". Now just hit "Alt-Tab" to minimize FS2k2 to the desktop and then "Alt-Tab" back in. Notice that in the aircraft selection window the aircraft looks a bit different. Click "OK" and have fun.

Are you getting this to work for the reflective water effects as well? Thanks,

Yes I'm getting water reflections and everything, thanks again to nick for posting the "back door" fix. I've got a completely new sim now.

Hi there,a quick question for you. Are you using an aircraft that supports the reflective textures and chrome effects? Any of the default aircraft will do with the exception of the Mooney and the 182RG as these were brought over from FS2000 and they weren't redone for FS2002.What you need to do, (this is if you want to do it in Fullscreen mode) is go ahead and select the aircraft that you want to fly, in the aircraft selection window, but don't click on the "OK" button yet.Next press and hold the "Alt" key and then hit "Tab". FS2k2 will now minimize to the desktop.Once that is done just click on the FS2k2 bar in your windows taskbar and FS2k2 will maximize again. You should now see that the aircraft has the chrome reflections on the propeller spinners and the textures should be reflective.(If you've selected an aircraft that has these features.)Now click on the "OK" button to finally select the aircraft and have fun.Note: You also have to make sure that you have the aircraft reflections in your display options enabled, as well as Multi-Texturing, and you also have a slider for water detail and this has to be full right to see the reflective sun on the water.

Just ran across this string.I have the GF4MMX and do not have the reflections on planes or water even after following the backdoor instructions. All textures to max and reflections (aircraft textures and water to detail and reflections). I had upgraded from a GF2 which did have the reflections...go figure. I hope NVIDIA does provide a fix for this...very aggrevating to spend money on an upgrade and get less features in the process.
