November 29, 200322 yr HiOk I don't know why PMDG release a product which uses SIDs and STARs and only include like 5 LOL.I use to use the 767PIC and that contained basically every SID and STAR there is, so the customer would never need to complain. Completely the opposite here. I would at least expect we would be paying for them to be included in the package. Can we expect a load of new SIDs and STARs to be released by PMDG soon, or at least a converter program to convert the old 767PIC files to PMDG?Can you guys start placing links below that you know contain SIDs and STARs for Europe (especially the Canary Islands, Spain and France), this way we can gather a collection of sites for other users in the 1 post? Here's one for a few UK and european airports:http://homepage.ntlworld.com/simon.butler2...usefulfiles.htmCheersWill
November 29, 200322 yr They have always been available here-http://www.precisionmanuals.com/PAGES/737support.htm
November 29, 200322 yr Hi Will,Boeing doesn't sell their NG with a ready to go data base either. ;-)And who do you think made the PIC SID/STARs????Actually with SU2 you will get some more procedures, but as has been stated before most of the work relies on us users to create a database with procedures good enough for us. Would be great if PMDG could hold some space on their web server for this purpose though!Cheers, Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
November 29, 200322 yr Maybe an idea to make a section on the pmdg website where users can add their Sids&stars.Same as Richard Stefan did on his website.
November 29, 200322 yr Hello WillThere is about 600 sid/star files available from the PMDG support page. However the DAFIF data limitations mentioned in the past has restricted the number of sid/star files and their completeness. From my point of view I was interested in flying from the UK, many major airports were missing including Manchester and London Gatwick. Even London Heathrow was incomplete. This prompted me to start writing these files, which I now quite enjoy doing. There are a couple of other good sites available too, I'll look up the links and post them later.I have posted in the past requesting that we have a fixed post/thread for user sid/stars files so that work isn't duplicated. From memory I don't believe I got a response.Simonhttp://homepage.ntlworld.com/simon.butler2...usefulfiles.htmHeres the other good sites I've come acrosshttp://pmdg.operations.dk/http://smart.tin.it/amaxliea/SID/sid.htm
November 29, 200322 yr I have d/l the SIDs/STARs off PMDG's website, but that's only a limited selection, and doesn't include what I'm after."Actually with SU2 you will get some more procedures, but as has been stated before most of the work relies on us users to create a database with procedures good enough for us. "I hope SU2 adds a few that I'm after, I for one don't have a clue how to start making SID and STAR sheets, I'd rather just spend my time flying :DAllocating abit of web space and a page dedicated to SIDs and STARs for the PMDG would be great :DFor now, I just hope the weather is all clear with ATC giving me acceptable vectors to prevent the a/c ending up in a hill :( . .. but knowing MS ATC, what's the likelyhood of that! lol.CheersWill
November 29, 200322 yr "I have posted in the past requesting that we have a fixed post/thread for user sid/stars files so that work isn't duplicated. From memory I don't believe I got a response."I was hoping that by people posting links to different websites within this post, this post/thread would remain "fixed" as well onto their main forum page. I've been checking back slowly (on my 56k) and there haven't been that many new posts concerning SIDs and STARs, the ones I had found were all related to the same thing. Thanks for the links,Will
November 29, 200322 yr Hi,Has anybody got a good SIDS/STARS file for ESSA, one that won't generate an error message, and is compatable with the latest (and unfortunately, apparently the last) AIRAC cycle?ThxBill S.
November 30, 200322 yr I haven't looked, but check this site.http://pmdg.operations.dk/index.phpMikkel
November 30, 200322 yr Thanks, Mikkel, that's the file I was using and I get error messages with the latest AIRAC update.ThanksBill S.
November 30, 200322 yr Hello Bill,Just had a quick at that ESSA file.I get the error R1306 unknown.I dont know ESSA but looking at the excellent charts and info here http://www.sweden.vacc.nu/Images/upl/ESSA2.pdf it looks like the first waypoint in the right hand turns out of runway 8 is SA418 and the left turn departures SA412.As temporary measure it looks like we can manage without this troublesome NAVAID R1306. Theres 16 of them listed, in two blocks of 8, in the runway 8 sids. Just delete NAVAID R1306 from these 16 sids and save the file and it should then work without any problems.Hope this HelpsSimon
November 30, 200322 yr Thank you Simon, in fact I took a crack at fixing the file, found the same problem, and got it going just fine. I don't know where the NAVAID R1306 comes from but the SIDS work great without it.Thanks for checking into this, I truly appreciate it. I'm slowly getting smarter at these things....Thanks again and happy holidaysBill S.
November 30, 200322 yr You find a working ESSA here,http://www.121st-sob.com/pmdg.htm I posted it to operations.dk but they where happy with the erronus one.Mads
