Lots of route discontinuities with SU2

Recommended Posts

Guest PH-MCV

When i insert waypoints and airways i get lots of discs on the rte page. I have tried Airac0312, the default 0311, reinstalling the pmdg and reinstalling FS9 but same problem.. With SU1 everything is going fine. Some discs are easy to remove others gives route disc inserted when i try to del them with the del button and clicking between the disc.I have uploaded some pics to get an idea what i mean:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/53300.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/53301.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/53302.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/53303.jpgThanks for all help!Marcel

Find out this doesn't happends always.. LEKKO UB31 WOODY is a problem but REFSO UR1 LOGAN works without any problem... I have no idea what is going wrong. Removing the old navdata and reinstalling doesn't fix the problem.

Ok, I am not as well versed in the FMC logic as I should be, but I think that the problem lies in the route you are entering. I think that the plane will insert discos on any turn to the next waypoint greater than some magic number like 180* or some such nonesense ;) I think that there are other causes for this, but I am not sure. My recommendation would be to make sure that your route is not the problem. The reason you aren't seeing behavior like this in SU1-1 is because Anthony added a ton of nifty new features to the SU2 FMC, one of which was correct(as far as the beta testers were able to tell ;-)) disco behavior.

Hi,I think you will find that the old UR1 in the UK airspace is now UL980 in 0312. I have been checking the data in the files and cross checking with the VATSIM-UK NOTAM and this seems to be the case.Give it a try anyway.regards,Dave (CYVR)

DISCons are normal and a part of the FMC. If you choose a PROCEDURE this most likely will create a DIScon, if you ADD OR REMOVE from your active route you WILL get a DIScon. If your PROCEDURE is choosen AFTER you have progammed a route and the ENDING WAYPOINT OF THE PROCEDURE MATCHES one of the route entries you will not get a DISCon. Whenever you choose a ARRIVIAL RUNWAY EXTENTION you get 2 DISCons just like the real FMC u10.4. This is just the way the real FMC does it. SOULUTION to this? CONNECT the DISCons. All pilots have to do this. Just remeber to look at some charts, program a route with a COMMON ending waypoint for the SID and STAR to have less DISCons, the FMC will link the route in these cases with the COMMON waypoints. Hi Randy, As always you are a ton of information :-) Now that you mention the ROUTE DISCs when using RWY EXT, my question is why they are present. I figure the RWY EXT is meant by the pilot to be part of the route he actually wishes to fly. Do you know the rationale behind the 2 ROUTE DISCs then? Thanks, :-waveBoazEKCH

Runway EXTs can only be chosen IF you choose a RUNWAY, not for an ILS APP, the RUNWAY ext can be 1-25 miles so it will create 1] One DISCon between the EXT and the RUNWAY2] One DISCon between the EXT and ACTIVE ROUTE. Your guess is as good as mine ;) [h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. Smithhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/betaimg.jpg

The FMC will insert a discontinuity (displaying a message) if- 2 same wpts follow each other in sequence (f.e GVA GVA)OR- there is a course reversal of more or less 180 degress between 2 legs (f.e. GVA SPR GVA, or GVA SPR PAS)anthonyAnthony MertonPrecision Manuals Developmenthttp://www.precisionmanuals.com
