Do you stutter in the air while turning?

Curious - Does anyone else stutter while making a turn? While flying straight I have no problems and can't notice and stuttering until I make a turn. My FPS is definetly not an issue as I get well over 25-30 fps while in the air. Could this have something todo with landclass not loading fast enough? I defrag my hard-drive approximetly every 2-3 weeks, have 1gig of 2700 ddr ram, and an ATI 9800pro w/256 ram. Anyone else experience this and maybe have a tip or two ?Thanks,Tony

Tony, I also see this quite frequently in turns. My fps is usually in the 40-50 range, sometimes higher, but I still see the stutter. I have found this to be the case flying in real weather or no weather at all. I had originally suspected that real weather was causing it, but it happens in clear skies as well. One thing that I did to help it a little was to increase my bandwidth in the fs9.cfg file to 250. I would say it decreased the stutter by maybe half. I don't notice these stutters myself. If you see these stutters, they are probably caused by the NG's autopilot making tons of calculations in order to fly the turn right.Just my conjecture :)

Bob,Thanks for the reply - My texture bandwidth is currently set at 40 and I reduced that number a few weeks back from some other posts. I will try that larger number later tonight and post the results.I've also thought weather and clouds may be causing the problem but have seen the problem with both "real world" and no weather at all. Honestly, I dont mind messing with any of the FS9 settings to eventually come up with the optimal flying experience. The only time I ever post something in the forum is when I'm really stuck and unable to correct something. In this case, it was really bugging me. I do see this in all turns. Granted, my system is NOT particularly high-end (PIII 1.2 GHz, GeForce3-64 video, 133MHz FSB, 512 RAM), so I would pretty much expect it.On my system at least, it definitely seems to be related to the graphic routines required to draw the 2-D panel itself (and the various displays contained therein.)If I hit the "W" key twice in mid-turn to hide the 2-D panel and go to the full-screen outside view, the stuttering almost completely disappears.With the panel displayed, the stutter is "mildest" with the landing view enabled, and at its worst with the fully magnified cockpit displays (ie: the "Z" button).Again, it is not an annoyance for me as I know my system does not have a lot of horsepower by today's standards.Jim BarrettUPS705BAW795

I have these stutters in turns as well sometimes. It seems to be worse in high traffic areas or when ATC is talking nonstop. Lowering my traffic helps a little, but not always.I'm running a P4 1.8 (512 cache), GeForce Ti4600 128MB, and 1 Gig RDRAM. Hope to upgrade in a few months.My traffic is usually around 40% (Ultimate Traffic), and my other settings are 80 mesh, normal autogen, autogen XML file disabled, and most other settings high or max. Frames in the mid-20s most often.Chris

turn off the airport or sta modes on the MCP, or just use an approach mode or VOR/ILS selection with the knob... really smooths things out...
