MSFS FLIGHT PLAN VS. FMC FLIGHT PLAN

How can you get the FS flight plan to follow the flight plan on the CDU? If I select a IFR plan from the FS, will the ATC break me off the route generated by FMC?

You can't, unless you enter in the waypoints generated by FS into the FMC. Only problem is that the ATC in FS will enforce altitude restictions on climb out and descent and will force you to break off from your plan 70 nautical miles out or so. It really doesn't work. You have to just fly VFR (file a flight plan for traffic advisories once airborne) in FS unless perhaps RC works better.Chris

If I may add something to this...I tend to build the flightplan initially in FsNavigator with reference to my real-world Jeppesen SID/STAR and area charts (not always necessary but FsNav does sometimes take you round in circles when it gets confused) I then export the flightplan (with necessary altitude/speed restrictions) from FsNav in FS2004 format AND PMDG format.I then load both into FS2004/pmdg fmc and for 90% of the route FS ATC is pretty good (ignore altitude restrictions set by ATC just dial-in 37000 feet or whatever is your cruising altitude and the FS ATC will automatically give you clearance to climb around 1000 ft before each altitude restriction they previously instructed you to maintain). The problem (as mentioned above) is when you get within 70-80miles of your destination when you start receiving ludicrous vectors from an over-enthusiastic FS ATC. I then cancel IFR and tune into the approach/tower frequency for my destination and request approach from them instead!RegardsAdam Moorewww.flightpix.tk
