OK, i know that you have to own Active Camera to use the VCabin, but didnt i read somewhere that other programs could be used. Do any of you PMDG guys know which kind of Progrmas i could use, cause right now i dont have any money to buy Active Camera for FS2004. Also aer there any presets i can get for the VCabin? and instructions on how to install the? thanks for the help!Daniel

As far I know you don't need Active Camera to use any VC. There are FS keystrokes or Joystick hat to help you position the desired view. What Active camera can do is to program preset views. These preset allow you to use any VC as easily as 2D. However due to the VC refresh rates 2D popup to the main instruments is also a must. One problem with this approach is that the number of aircraft that allow all the functions from the VC is scarce.Personally I was from the school "VC is for short finals and circuits only airliners are used in 2D" but after really trying Active Camera functions I'm hopping for more VC capable planes.Jos

'As far I know you don't need Active Camera to use any VC'I thought this too, I assumed that ActiveCamera was just a simple way utilizing the mouse. But, this appears not to be true, which I still dont understand. If active camera move via mouse WHY cant one move the to the same place with the keyboard defaults??What exactly does Active Cam do to allow one to see the cabin??anyone?

Jose,The poster talks about the virtual CABIN. The FS default keystrokes are limited to a short distance from the VC reference point. Active Camera allows to walk around (X,Y and Z axis) in the cabin as far as the user wishes. Features also nice functions like mouse panning and zooming, head latency, turbulences, AI tracking, fly by, approach.Peter Van Stichel.
