Hi,Is there a difference in frame rates between the various models as 2D cocpit only and with winglets and stairs? Why is the difference?Has another livery influence?I just wonderFrans Dekker / TFF074A

No reactions. Is this a dum question or a difficult one?I hope someone from PMDG can answer the question? Why there is not only one model of the 700 that includes all: stairs, cabin and winglets. I had the impression that the framerate was lower or is it only a matter of RAM memory?Frans Dekker / TFF074A

No, it's not a dumb question. There is no difference with the 2D panel for either the 600 or 700 right now. When the -800/900 series are released there will be a few panel choices, and some *may* reduce frames, I can't speak for PMDG on this. So, the 2D and VC panel choices are the same right now regardless of the planes paint job (liveries). Also, the winglets and/or stairs wouldn't have any effect on frame rates either. The cabin is for the VC (Virtual Cockpit) in which you can move around the plane with Active Camera (a pay ware product in FS2004). The VC itself even without the cabin is heavy on the computers resources, therefore the frame rates are usually lower. If you use the VC AND Cabin, with Active Camera, you'll have a heavy load on the computer, and a slide show if your computer isn't top of the line. I only use the 2D for this reason.Regarding the choice of stairs and other options, I believe the choice to add stairs or winglets is based on whether the real life plane has them, unless the livery is a fictional one. For example, FedEx doesn't fly 737-700s, however, you can download a FedEx livery from PMDG that has winglets and stairs. Since that carrier doesn't use 737-700s, the painter who made that livery chose to add winglets and stairs because there isn't a real world one to base it on. Southwest however does fly 737-700s, so the painter made those based on what the real Southwest Boeings have. Also, I believe the 600s don't have the option for stairs in the real world, so none of them will have them from PMDG.Chris
