Shots of the new beta

Featured Replies

Thomas,This beta does not have an IRS in it. If/when the IRS shows up(PMDG will have to explain that qualifier) then I will show pics of it :)

About the colour..I also think it is a bit 'blue'...I made a quick edit to show what i think it should look like after seeing an EasyJet 737 real panel on a few occassions. :)http://www.paint4fs.com/panel.jpg

Nice painting Ben, I think I prefer your grey. Although I think your RTO switches... etc blend into the background too much, maybe make them more white?Cheers,-Paul

MORE MORE MORE :( :)I realy like to see those shots. :DRamon

I think the real Boeing-grey is a little lighter, and bluish.Keep up the very nice, and good work!!!! Ican't wait!!Laszlo GulyasBudapest (LHBP), Hungaryhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/checkcapt.jpg

>i hate to sound insolent but what is IRS exactly?David,You don't sound insolent :) An IRS is Inertial Rererence System. This uses complicated machinery(not sure exactly what) to determine where the airplane is as it flies. The IRS gets an initial LAT/LON entry(the POS INIT page). After the IRUs(Inertial Reference Unit) align, they monitor the planes speed, direction of flight, altitude. This data from the IRUs, along with radio navaids, tell the plane where it is.

>Nice painting Ben, I think I prefer your grey. >>Although I think your RTO switches... etc blend into the>background too much, maybe make them more white?>Yeah it was just a quick edit, would look better with the switched standing out more etc :)

I've done my own repaint of the 2D panel and complete VC, in what I think is the right grey. Doing all those gauge bitmaps took some time! Anyway, here's a few pics, I hope they come out ok.The cockpit walls, window frames, etc., have also been done to make them what I think is a more accurate colour.I've been doing the VC's to match photo's of specific aircraft cockpits from that airline - this one is Transavia. Just for the fun of it. Placards, etc., are accurate for this aircraft. If anyone's interested in having them, I don't know what the policy is on interior repaints, especially the gauge bitmaps, but if some at PMDG says it's ok, I suppose the bmp's could be distributed somehow. The main VC panel here is still a bit too blue, but that's being taken care of. :)Hope you like...Mike F.

Yeah, the grey edit above looks much better. Of course add more white to the knobs and it'll look excellent. Now for my first question, how is the ACARS function going to apply in the sim?I have a feeling the new FMC is going to have me lost ;)Chris

Mike, those look great! Could you send those to my email address if you dont mind? [email protected] Thanks! :DAlso, PMDG is there gonnna be an IRS or not? I know its minor but it would be nice to have.

Marc, I'd love to, but not just panel bitmaps are involved - the entire gauge file would have to be sent (28.6M), as all the related gauge bitmaps had to be redone. I'm not sure PMDG want their gauges being freely distributed. But if there's some way to make sure only registered customers get them, perhaps then...? Or am I wrong?Mike F.

Although the reflections and main panel look great in the new version, I can't help but miss the old 3-D overhead.-Brass
